When I just had Sally and Precious, and Precious was little, I always wondered why people would make toons that were "different". It never bothered me at all but just didnt understand "why" someone would want to do that except in the case of just not liking sound!!!

When Precious had to choose her level 6 track, it was between trap and drop, and she chose trap because Sally had drop. I play Precious much more than Sally and as her trap grew, I found I really liked it. I would get on Sally and just about die because I wanted trap! Now when I get on Precious, there are times when I think "man it would be nice to be able to drop him"!! I find myself considering, for the first time, making a toon that is either lureless or tu less. I never thought that would happen!! This never would have happened if I hadnt played with both maxed trap AND drop. It is too late for Bella Rose but hmmmm..............!!! It was one of those "AH HAH" moments!!! Anyone have an opinion on which would be easier to leave out? I am thinking TU would be more expendable because once you get bigger, it is rare to play with someone that doesnt have TU.

Maybe I'm getting older (but that cant be it LOL), but the boss runs and maxing the toon doesn't seem to be so important anymore either. I will max Sally and probably Precious, but starting new toons, working tasks, and maxing gags seems so much more fun and relaxing. You can talk more and is just so much less stressful!!! Just thought I would share my new found revelations!!:)

My first toon was lureless. It's alot harder to do things alone but for the most part I didnt have much trouble working her. Some toons get really upset about TUless toons, because in a life and death situation you cant help them. I guess its a matter if if you want to be able to save yourself or someone else lol.

I have a friend who's made all his toons so a different track is missing. He considers it the way we're supposed to do it. lol I love my tooupless when I'm with toons that can play, but I get very nervous when things go wrong. Lureless.. I could never do that. Ever.

That's what I was thinking also Sally. But I couldn't even think about not having lure or tu. Also, Ginger has gotten pretty boring just doing boss runs. That's why I have been playing Braid so much. It's more fun!!

if you dont choose tu you could always max your doodle that could help people.

I pick my tracks according to the toons' personalities. Holoduck the healer, Mister Stinky as a monkey must have bananas. Pencil Smusher must smush.

Have to agree though that the tasking process is the most fun. I enjoy the whole saga of the shop keepers and their situations, and getting those gag upgrades early on etc.

My first toon, before I really understood the game, was lureless. Drop and trap just seemed like so much more fun. And they are. But... I can't do anything alone hardly. Hasn't stopped me from trying, but it does make solo'ing anything (even a small building) very dangerous.

I wouldn't make another lureless, I would make a tu'less, although other people really seem to get a lot more upset about that than about missing lure. I can't even begin to imagine why, since doodles & most other toons have tu. Even later in the game you can get unites that give laff, there is no "lure the cogs into compliance" unite......

SOundless sucks on ice, and now since I have a toon w/ okay sound it has become aparent exactly how MUCH it sucks. I now love my perfectly normal black cat. He has his sound and will soon have his trap. Organic sound is also quite fun.

But I do honestly miss the unmistakable power of an organic piano, and it's killing me that my tanic is missing from my gags list.

LOL. But I love my new toon, and it was totally worth going thru all those stupid factories.

Ya know, someone being soundless has NEVER bothered me, Cliff. And actually, while I could never make a soundless toon, I have started to appreciate sound less and less!! I have been doing 5 story buildings mostly by myself for a while now and sound is useless. In Cog Golf, if there is one who is soundless, the rest can sound and they can drop a 2.0. It actually works out very well, esp now that they have added drop gags to the game winnings. I understand though (that is what this thread was about) that as you play and "grow up" in the game, you appreciate different things more or less than you originally did. Who knows? Maybe if I make a new toon it will be soundless???? Time will tell!!!

I'm lureless and I get by just fine even with my gags, but I don't solo much. I vote lureless.

Well, from my point of view, lure is wonderful. The first toon I actually had time to work past TTC, Yippie, ended up being lureless. Given the opportunity, I now would take away her trap and give her lure. At one point in time, I (in my infinite insanity) chose a task for 400 2+ story cog buidings. Being without lure, I kind of had to blast my way through the buildings by sheer force. I spent a LOT of time trying to convince my friends to go on building marathons with me, as it was very time-consuming taking over buildings solo and being attacked at every turn, and then having to go heal myself before braving the next building. rolleyes:
But I digress. Bottom line is I wouldn't recommend being lureless, unless you don't much care for solo'ing.

I really wish they would give you the choice of which 6 you could pick. I did a few DAs on Sally yesterday (first time I played her in a long time!!!) so that maybe I MIGHT be able to CJ before school starts again. I was reacclaimated to her drop. I got on Precious and really missed it. What I wouldnt miss is squirt. If I could choose to leave out squirt I would do it in a heartbeat. Since I am really soloing a lot, soundless is becoming more and more appealing, although I am not interested in the fight that will insue in trying to get on any elevator so I probably wouldnt do any boss battles!!! I still don't know if I could ever go any way other than trapless or dropless but it is becoming clearer and clearer why many do. Maybe I will just keep making new toons and delete them when I have to make the choice and start over............there ARE only so many slots available!!rolleyes:

Having a TUless toon, I dont mind playing other TUless. As long as they know what they are doing. Ive done 4 man all uber CFOs with 2 TUless and 6 man all Uber with 3 TUless....

In the beginning of building up my TUless, it was hard..... I had a few friends go sad helping me with buildings because I couldnt Toon them up. But now, I got a doodle that like to talk... and a decent stash of Unites... So Im not worried and neither is anyone else with me....

Interesting thing happened in the Buillion the other day... I was on Anita Goh (80 laff RB50) helping a friend (74 laff RB12 working on 8900 bucks) shes TUless also. I brought along another of my toons (Curious George RB12 105 laff trapless) and we had a random with us.... The random was 97 laff TUless quicksand and big weight 10 dollar lure.. all of our gags were maxxed... and he was actually stinking US for being TUless... Hello.. what planet are you from??? Your tuless too..

Overall tho, While building up Anita, I got more offers of help and made several more friends than i did enemies. People saw my other gags and I got the.. You look nice, would you like some help.... Those that stunk me or what not.. I just didnt go with them..

I remember that bullion mint we did together before I knew Anita Goh was you. I had no problem going with you, and I remember my friend and I both telling you and talking between ourselves how cool your name was. He definately mentioned to me that you were TUless though but I figured that even if the other "random" (at least at that point I thought you were a random LOL) was TUless I figured we would be fine. When you logged into Sir again and took me to your house and showed me Anita's house I was even more comfortable going with you cuz I know how well you play! I feel that if you have a good doodle, and esp if there are 2 that have TU it isnt a factor if one or 2 are TUless. It is the "stink" factor that bothers me. I think I finally have your toons down now!! It has been forever since I have played with you cuz I am usually on Precious. If you have room for her, PM me and maybe we can work that out!! I miss Curious George and those 4-5 man CFOs with your friends and Sir Bumblenoodle were absolutely awesome!! Precious is now able to work on CFO and would love your help!!!:thumbup1:
