Returning to game; bringing my red mage to blue?

Haven't played in over 5 years. I heard there were some 1 time reprieves offered at some point, not sure if it's still possible.

My red is my favourite guy and has used 3x 120 power scrolls when they were first introduced (mage, eval, med) so I don't want to just toss him out.

There doesn't seem to be anything to do on reds these days, so I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to bring him to blue status? I don't see much point in playing if I have to lose the only character I have interest in playing, so any info would be appreciated.

He's 16 short term 22 long term counts.

Which ever shard your on go to the gate that has to most traffic, sit afk from server up to server down. Log in the next morning, rinse and repeat. To go back to the minimum to be allowed blue is 4. To lose 12 will take you 20 days non stop. Maybe longer depending on how much you get timed out if there isn't constant traffic at the gate you choose to sit at.
Good luck

I don't know if it's possible to burn off that many counts, but you could always soulstone his skills off, delete the character, re-create him and soulstone his skills back on to the new one. Only trouble is you'll have to replace the scrolls he's eaten, and that could be expensive. But at least you won't have to totally re-train his skills.

time is your only friend you can add mining and kill time or LJ gather hides or just hunt critters for gold as long as you stay away from yew gate and champ spawns & faction citys odds of seeing anyone in fel are very low

So I guess my fastest and best option is to just do the soulstone method...

Would cost me like 10 mill + it seems lol...

Yeesh!

If I did the soulstone option, can't I only put 1 skill on at a time every 24 hours?

Which means I'd have to open up a new character slot...?

or buy some soulstone fragments depending on your shard 14 mil or so for the mage then 2-6 for the other two toss in any stat scolls you may have used and 20 days or even a month maybe not to long to wait

You could get enough soulstone fragments (5 use soulstones) to do it all at once. Soulstone fragments tokens run about 500k to 2m depending on where you get them. Make sure you buy tokens and not the fragments themselves, as once the token is redeemed it is account bound.

If you only have one stone, yes. I forgot that you said you were just returning, so obviously you might not have a few extra stones laying around.

Another option would be to get some soul stone fragments (on my shard they run about 500 - 600k each) and use those instead. The work just like a normal soulstone but only have 5 uses. You could get 3 for under 2 mil and do it that way cheaper. Don't forget though that if you use that method, you're going to have to invest in new scrolls as well before you can put the skills onto the new character. Otherwise you'll lose those last 20 points above GM.

I have a char with 154 long terms, havent played her since AoS. I want to delete her, but shes scolled out, and has a PBD so still havent. I should just rework her skills, but havent decided what to do. Reds can still be fun, with the right skills.

Burning off even 22 counts will take along time.

If you used soulstones or fragments then you would still have to buy the three 120's for your new char as well whatever stat scroll. Magery and Eval can be pretty expensive. All you need to do is burn off 18 long counts at 40 hours per count, so if you leave your char logged in as a ghost at the normal PVP gate it would take 720 hours. Adding in crashes and play time, you should be able the char blue within 2 months.
