I've finally decided to make a thief for SP... But...
It has been a very very very very long time since I trained up a thief...

any tips, tricks, things like that I should know?

With my last thief.. years and years ago.. I kinda did more "train as I play" stuff since it was more of a play style.

with this one.. since i play very little anymore... I'd like to powertrain him so Ive got another char to play with when i get bored.

I'm thinking i'll do a stealthing disarm thief again.

Don't train your stealing in Luna, unless you have a fire beetle. Packies don't last very long.

Don't forget, unless you are running around with other players, train up magery at least to 60 so you can use gate scrolls. If you only play one account, be sure to set your template up so yo can make some money other than through stealing...there are times where the marks are far and few between, especially when there are large numbers of active thieves.

If you are going to be a nekked leg humping thief...use a disguise kit. Otherwise, train up stealth and snooping enough that you can at least check packs without spamming the area to notify everyone else that there is a thief working in the neighborhood.

If you need some gold, hit me up in game...I'll help ya out...la

Actually I've found that once you get past 70.1 it is a lot easier..
On siege you know when your gains are coming, and you usually get them within 2 minutes of trying.
A lot better than spending 30 mins for a ggs gain.

True it takes a while to get from 70.1 to 100, but you should have other ways to occupy your time between gains.

Stealing at 80, should be fine. Work with your macros and your toon placement so as your stealing skill advances, you can work on larger steals. 1 stone items should be rather easy for you even at your low skill...do you have a bandana? I have a few laying around to help give you 10 extra points while you are training...la

Is gaining stealing easier if people can see you stealing? I think that used to be the case but I'm not sure.
