returning player looking for guild

Hi,

It has been sometime since I last played uo. I am looking for a guild mainly pvm..never did much pvp but not out of the question. Never have done any rp either. I would really like to find a guild that uses vent instead of icq..but would download icq if I absolutely had to. I just reactivated my account yesterday and am feeling really lost atm. Went to luna and couldn't even find a vendor with recall scrolls for sale. So even if I may not fit your guild any guidance getting started would be helpful. I placed a house last nite and do have a couple of mil left..I know not much these days..My 2 main chars are a legendary bard and an archer. I think they both have all their 120 ps..

Is fishing still a good money maker to help get some bankroll?

First off, Welcome Back.
If your looking for recalls, my vendor outside Destard is always stocked.

As for making money, fishing is only going to help if you fish up a lot of white pearls and delicate scales. Those are about the only thing that really bring in steady money. I find my best money (not made from running vendors) is made by hunting arctic ogre lords with my pally/fencer.

There are a few good PVM guilds out there. D|R is the largest guild on the shard and has been known to help returning players. PGoH is a great PVM guild that also is very RP centric. There is also the Circle Alliance which is made of many guilds, some are more focused on PVM, some on champ spawns, etc. There are even guilds in the alliance that cater to a certain class, like tamers. I am not part of the group that focuses on assisting new and returning players but I believe there is a guild in the Circle Alliance called MgKa or Magic Academy which has a primary goal of helping new and returning players. They often get them equipped and show them what has changed. I am sure several representatives will show up to discuss what they have to offer.

And as Black Sun pointed out, fishing...white pearls. Great for the new skill Imbuing. However, it does take a good bit of fishing to get enough white pearls gathered up. So from a cost/investment of time ration it isn't always at the top. However, if you just enjoy fishing you can certainly make money at it with selling your pearls!

Some of them do, but it can be a pain to 1) find one who has them, and 2) find one who's price hasn't been run up sky high by people buying but not selling back.

I'll throw out a plug for the United Pirates (UP). Certainly not the largest, but a great group of mates If I do say so myself. Being pirates we do a fair amount of RP, but all play styles are welcome as long as they be pirates.

Catskills has some great choices when it comes to guilds and people to help you out as mentioned earlier in the thread.

In my experience, you are really looking for a circle alliance guild, perhaps GRI.

It has a very active ventrillo server, good people to hunt with and a fairly constant PvM presence. They're also absurdly easy to find (Just ask almost any guild in Haven about the circle alliance, most of them are in it). They also offer you roads to other play styles (RP/PvP/etc) without requiring you to bog yourself down in other play-style politics

There are probably other options around out there, but I see them (I'm not part of them) as being your best option to meet your needs.

I'm an emmissary of Dark Revelations, D|R, that was mentioned earlier. While we are a larger guild, we certainly can cater to a returning player. At any given time, we'll have members running peerless, crafting, champ spawns (which basically means PVP, these days) or any number of new things to do with the SA expansion.

I recently made a post on UHALL that any player trying Catskills could PM me and I'd set them up with a marked runebook, a nice suit pertaining to their playstyle, help them with housing/gold etc.

If you want to PM me sometime with your usuall playtime and a player's name, I'd be happy to "show you the ropes" again, and set you up with the above things or whatever you need to help you get back on your feet!
