Returning after a few years, questions

Hi,

My husband and I are returning after being gone for almost 3 years. Alot had changed when we returned then, and now there are even more changes.

We are looking for a shard that isnt dead, but isnt so overcrowded that we could still hunt (not sure if this is a problem anywhere anymore). We do not PvP (or RP), we would like to find a group to do peerless with and I used to enjoy champ spawns in fel when I didnt have to worry about only certain guilds controlling them. I enjoyed it when it was more or a free for all, might have to dodge an occasional red, but you didnt have guilds that killed anyone that showed up that werent part of their guild.

I loved running vendors, and would like to get back to that if possible. Where we are now, we dont see that happening, as it is too dead. We have been running around for a few days and have really only seen 2 people, except for Luna, and most of them were standing around trash talking about who is better in pvp.

Any suggestions about a good shard that would fall under the above category?

Also, can anyone tell me what kinds of things an average player can sell on vendors? All I mostly see on vendors where we are now is rares and semi-rares. Do any crafted items sell at all? Aside from peerless loot, does any other looted items sell?

One more question, what kinds of stats (and a min level) should I look for on loot? I never really understood all that when we returned last time.

Thank you for your time reading this and thank you in advance for any and all suggestions.

Wow.
Lotta questions eh? hehe
Ok, lets get to it.

Shard = Atlantic..........period!!
Yeah its populated.
Yeah its got buttwipes...so does all shards.
Yeah its got big guilds, but with champ changes to ghost camming, it aint too bad.
Its got all you need, want, will ever!!
Second shard choice IMO......well there just aint one!!
Next.

Vendors.
Some player made stuff still sells, mostly the new stuff tho. Dyes, soulstone frags, etc. I suggest you just spend some time looking at whats on the luna vendors and outprice em!!
Next.

Looted items....if they are part of needed requirements for imbuing, they sell!!
Next.

Stats on loot? Well, whatever your looking for, as imbuing will allow you to add pretty much all you need/want to your jewels, armor, weps, etc!
Mostly, nowadays, imbuing is the way to go!!

PS....welcome back-back (hehe)........dont let it happen AGAIN!!:D

Atlantic is a fine shard as far as I know, but I do most of those things you talk about on Chessy. If you have questions about the shard, let me know. If I don't know the answer, I can ask someone. WELCOME BACK!!!

Thank you both for the responses/help. I was wondering, how is the housing on Atlantic and Chessy? I would be looking for a large plot (lots of junk lol) tram or malas.

Edit:

I forgot about tokuno and the new lands (havent upgraded yet, so havent been there, forgot you could have housing there)

Welocme back..your best bet is to just walk around for a few days..

Housing on most shards is np to place, unless Europa..

GL shard isent bad....but it depends on your play time...

And Luna for prices is nuts...as always , but imbuing is the way to go...

I think you will have no matter what shard you pick..just try a few out...

And good luck..

Welcome back.

You can find nice housing on chessy. we had a tram keep idoc just the other day.

you can still play a viable vendor. trade on chessy is brisk. if you want to take the time to run a well stocked sundries guy you should do very well.

there are many guilds here that do peerless. i even saw people offering to do a mel run in the chat channel last nite.

champ spawns here are hit and miss. if your thinking your going to chain despise and not get raided you can forget it but on the other hand a well motivated resourceful group can get spawns in on a regular basis. chessy is hardly on lock down mode.

welcome back.

Welcome back :)

Europa is fine for housing and hunting, and we have the best people :)

If you do decide on Europa, you'd be welcome to throw in with our band of mildly insane players. We cover both Fel and Tram, and in Tram do peerless, champs and other 'big' hunts. There's a number of IDOC'ers who can help you out with housing spots, and we're happy to help out with anything else you need as well; with the numbers we have these days, we can cover pretty much everything. Guild and alliance chat are lively and friendly, and a great place to ask questions.

If that sounds like fun, you can PM me or grab someone in game with the guild tag 'SAOR' and tell them Cail said to get in touch :)

Welcome back!

Might I suggest Lake Superior? There is a group of players that run events every week, all are welcome no matter their skill levels or ability, just a good time for all. Housing is fairly open, you are not going to place a castle but just about everything else is open.

hunting? no problems, with the introduction of the Stygian Abyss most of the old places are empty.

As far as vendors? rares, semi-rares, repair deeds, Stygian Abyss components. Though you could try player crafted items.

Sounds like your going the crafter farmer route; now I am biased but I think Siege has the most potential for crafted items in the game since we have no insurance and an all fell ruleset. Housing placement is still wide open and the comunity is very helpfull getting you back in the game. Come browse through the siege forum stickies to get a feel for the unique shard that is siege.

Oh and we have Kookies!

Lots of medium sized plot spaces available on Atlantic, but the 18x18 spots are usually gobbled up as soon as they appear/IDOC.
Luck in placing will net ya one, or there is an active real estate guild that if they place usually sell, sometimes for a very reasonable price.
With Atlantic, and its fullness of players, there always seems to be some comers, and some go'ers, meaning always an IDOC somewhere = loot and or a spot for a plot!
