Remember a Thousand Years Ago when there were loot bags

Everyone complained that there were so many loot bags causing lag and litter. I kind of wish there were loot bags now for imbuing gatherers. It would be kind of nice to grab a bag of loot and run to the soul forge with my beetle full of bags of loot. The imbuing unravel container gump descends any bags within bags so everything could be unraveled.

I know, I know, keep bags on me and put things in my loot bag then drop it on the beetle to then get another to fill, but having a bag I could grab with unravelable items would be nice now. I just like the idea since nothing is "garbage" anymore to not have to pick up each item.

I guess if you were on a beetle after looting Mel it would be a breeze to get out of there faster instead of hand picking each item to decide if its worth the time to pick it up.

Funny how a complaint from over 10 years ago comes back as a wish for a revert.

Pouches are the cheapest, and Axem quests and Farmer Nash quests give bags and loot. Grab a handful of gold and hit up the provisioner, do Navrey or something and get books and frags and remnants, or do the farm, which is probably the easiest way to get bags ;P.

Better yet is the packies also died with a bagged stuff on them. Early days of this the bags have a stone cap of 1600 stones. I like the metal chest from the plague beast.

You could always just use the Enhanced Client to get quick and easy right-click to loot!...Oh. Wait. They still have the server-side cap on the speed of looting, so it's actually slower than 2d due to all the "You must wait to use another item." constantly interrupting you.

Nevermind.

That and having to play the EC is a punishment in itself.

Bags are 15 gold at a provisioner, do a few quests at Heartwoodf or bags. Sometimes you can go to Heartwood and pick up bags for free if someone leaves them. I do know what you mean though, orcs and specters used to drop bags. I miss that.

Sorry, I guess I just don't make sense. The corpse used to open with a bag in there and the bag had the loot. You could just grab it and we would keep the gold and the vanquishing kryss but throw the bag out. The server never trashed the stuff on the ground so it all piled up and on modems it was a lag problem because the client had to load each item.

I don't need bags. I would throw it out at the soul forge, but just want everything in a bag again to just drop it on my beetle speed resource acquire. I mean a revert back to the old.

Didn't you know? We can't ever revert back to anything that worked better than the new version. What's wrong with you? :)

Now I know what you mean! Though only some creatures had a bag not all.

truthfully?

They were annoying as hell. Especially when they just had one or two things in them. You still had to open the bag, pull out what you wanted, and throw the bag away on another corpse.

Plus it wouldn't necessarily solve your problem anyway -- what if you grab it and it has 200 stones of crap in it? Hope you didn't need to run from those void creatures. These days it's possible for some creatures to have hundreds of stones of items.

The only time I find the corpse item explosion a problem is when it has small, barely visible items or a lot of junk on top of the two or three things I actually want. Otherwise grabbing and sorting is not that big of an issue unless you are in a high spawn area.

Funny, even with that aspect in place I can loot faster in EC than in 2d, but hey, don't let reality get in the way of a good anti-EC trollfest... I see you've even brought a friend along to help.

I remember for a while the loot from some creatures used to just drop on the ground no pack no corpse just there on the ground for anyone to take.

Elementals.

It was awesome back then. Rarely did I have to kill anything for gold, just take from the slow-to-loot.

Yeah, during the T2A era, when you killed a spectral armor, it dropped to the ground as a sword weapon. It was anything from force to vanq, and about 1 in 50 was silver. Sometime during the UO:R era, they nerfed it, so it was a LOT easier to kill, but you would only get a couple hundred gold pieces in loot. Before the nerf, stealthers would patiently wait for a warrior or mage to kill the spectral armor, then grab the weapon off the floor without ever having to unstealth. A good thief could hang around the spectral armor spawn for a few hours and make a fortune without much danger, especially if a silver vanq or two dropped. After the nerf, they didn't bother with stealing the paltry 200 gold.

My reason for posting that was to point out that they should remove the server-side cap on loot-speed when the packets are coming from an instance of the EC. Because the current system is stupid and annoying. A fact that I would not know if I did not at least sometimes use the Enhanced Client. If I did not use the EC at all I would a.) probably not even know about that particular feature and b.) definitely not give a flying crap about it.

Furthermore, "a friend" is actually my mortal enemy. He once dressed up as a clown and killed my father. May locusts and blood rain down upon his rainbow-afro-covered head.

In conclusion: You made a knee-jerk reaction and contributed nothing to the thread other than an attempt to attack specific posters. This makes you the troll here, not me.

The truth is that there is just too much junk to loot these days. A Miasma has so much crap on the corpse to look thru that I will kill 2 more while trying to sort thru the first one's loot. Most of us don't even bother anymore.
What they REALLY need to do is make an autolooter with a set of loot options, so that you can turn on automatic looting for gold and/or resources, and set up something like a score for other items based on their imbuing intensity. You could set the option to only show items with an intensity over 350, for instance. That would make looting 1,000 times easier.
In the same vein, why not put a "loot all" option in for people grabbing everything on a corpse to unravel?
Of course, these would just be in areas with the Trammel ruleset. Fel has different looting rules anyway, though, so it shouldn't be hard to make it so that the autolooter would be disabled in Fel.

There are plenty of scripters out there that do this pretty much already...just find out what they are using.

Imbuers don't care if the bag is junk or not - it would still be a lot easier to have it all in a bag, to target ONCE with an "unravel container".
