Recruiting RP'ers for Catskills!

We're looking for a few good RP'ers to come join us on Catskills. We have a small but dedicated community of RP'ers that are fueled with passion for great RP! Whether you wish to spend a quiet night reading a book at the Library of Istas, drink yourself merry at the Knight's Rest Tavern, or engage in structured RPvP battles in Umbra, Trinsic or Jhelom... the possibilities are endless. We have so much creativity and its fun to create a character and watch them develop through the interaction of others.

I second what Pandora is saying. We are a small, yet dedicated RP community. Galehaven Tavern's official tavern night is Tuesday but you will most often find someone enjoying a bit of the Olympus rum there any night of the week. So as Pandora was saying, if you would like to come by for a little RP fun, we would love to have you and help in any way we can.

As a cats player who is interested in RP I can say, stay away from catskills.

The RP community as a whole here on cats is elitist as any I have seen in UO.

Ive been RPing on Europa, Atlantic and Chessy and been having more RP fun there than on cats in years.

Cats RP community has gone from being reasonable to being made up of a small number of people wanting to do ONLY their own scripted RP (And will hate your guts if you dont follow their script for YOUR character) or are using RP as a front to try and lord power over their other players.

Not saying Pandora is like this, I dont know her. But from my experience from trying to get BACK into the Cats RP community it is as a whole TERRIBLE. Go elsewhere. Europa Atlantic and Chessy have really nice and large RP groups.

Well, I don't know you... don't know what characters you have been playing or if you have come to our town or tavern nights or any of our numerous events. But I would like to know who you interacted with to feel this way.

I have had nothing but the best experience, although when I first returned to Catskills, I had my fair share of drama. After that however, I have found peace and quiet among those that enjoy the same type of RP that I do --- basically conflict RP that involves PvP around a common ROE.

Just yesterday evening, at our city's tavern, we had a nice RP interaction with the members of PGoH (their city is Olympus) around a storyline that we've been working on for a few weeks now called "Blood On His Hands" dealing with the untimely demise of one of our friend's character, Valis Razele. He actually killed off his character for the RP!!! And he's causing more problems dead that he EVER did alive LOL!

Another storyline we've been working on is called "Poisoned Brew", which centers around the poisoning of the Galehaven's Brewery, where they make their own Olympus Rum. Its up to the capture of a possible suspect, who is going to be questioned and possibly tried. He's currently being held at our city, Vamp's Lair.

We even have battle plots that center around RPvP... we've been trying to get the sea battles going but alas many folks haven't yet purchased High Seas. Can't say I blame them, lots of bugs still!

Maybe you should contact me and see if we can't provide you with a different experience.

I have to agree with Pandora here. I'm not having any trouble finding quality RP on Catskills regardless of what character I was using at the time. I can't remember the last time I ran into a scripted RP event of any kind either. I'm going to guess that your problem was the places you were looking for interaction at and not the community as a whole. If you'd like to try again shoot one of us a PM or an ICQ and we can show you around.

Not sure where you are getting your ideas from sir, but Catskills has some fine RP, and the elitist tag is one generals levied on others by one that has given up trying.

I will admit that with the time constraints on many of us you may have a hard time simply walking into RP most nights. But once you learn our schedules, I thing you would find Catskills RP community welcoming and helpful.

The Village of Aegis, located in the first clearing south of the Yew trammel gate is an old village. Settled the day Trammel opened by the Knights Of Yew. Our Tavern, The Knights Rest is open Sunday nights starting at 8 pm est, and we hold many events open to the public at large.
