I think its a great idea. The Asian rares have been so elusive since the start of their EM program that we may be able to see some at this fest.


Simple suggestion on layout side by side if possible:

1 house = 18x18 vendor house single flat vendors in rows every other row
2 house (adjacent) = 18 x 18 silent auction house
3 house (adjacent) = 18 x 18 vendor house single flat vendors in rows every other row

Simple design but very effective

i would love to see one on Asia shard! and i agree with Mantacore on the houseing layout, i think the Houseing on LS shard was ideal.....not just saying that cus i was the host hehe. Having to deal with multiple floors and doors (i hate doors!) on Atlantic was a bit of a pain and having the vendor houses so spread out was not ideal IMO. I think a Fest on Baja would be fun also so ill vote for either one.

Ouch, that hurt. We supplied the vendors according to who wanted which. It's not our fault if a small amount of rares collectors wanted vendors in the main house, they sold the actual RARES not rubble/holiday items/smaller rares/etc like the back alley houses.. It starts with a simple proposal of which Blend's was put forth and no one else's were.

History will repeat itself if the Baja group doesn't put up a formal proposal after this one.

The Sakura thing is different situation and has been graciously handled, but in the future if a proposal is accepted that should be it as far as what time slot a host/staff has.

They did so many things and didnt get it even tho they made a proposal....

Well what I mean by that is once a proposal has been accepted. Currently there is nothing in place that confirms what shard/festival host has what time slot. Once the proposal has been accepted by the community that festival then has their proposed time slot locked.

I've heard a lot about the Council lately, we never actually did anything. But perhaps it is time to experiment with that. We'll see how it goes.

Anyway, I'll be making a xfer over to Sakura from Atl in the coming weeks. So if anyone would like anything moved (especially other staff) please pm me. Space will more than likely be limited.

Here is some info from our experience at the last fest:

1. It doesnt matter how early you start your preparation, there is always something your forgetting - So dont sweat the little things

2. Silent auction house was made available several weeks out and I transferred it to Demon Slayer and he transferred it back to me after all his part was finished

3. Mesanna and the Luna access gate: Monday after the fest was over she moved the gate to a better access area. I emailed her months in advance and again the weeks leading up to the fest so I dont know how you get a gate that actually has a return side-other festivals didnt seem to have a problem-Good luck with that

Mesanna did make our staff skirts with timers to help us with security, but I would think the true rares collectors should wear items so they stand out from others

4. Vendor houses: The week prior to the festival was hectic- placing the vendors is difficult- I was the only player able to do this and you have to be available when they arrive to your shard- They have tons of items on packys and alot are in different time zones then you are, so they go afk when someone decides to release a harbringer and the possiblity of loosing items can become a problem

Solution: designate a date and time for vendor placement and have several other players able to place also

5. You cant control what people put on their vendors- but the goza warnings did work for duped items or poorly choosen items for sale

6. Lottery: If I were to do the festival again i wouldnt have a lottery-Due to time zones not all players will be online when you call out the numbers
If you choose to do one, use a personal attendent so the tickets go up at same time- players were sitting at ours buying the tickets as fast as my guild mate was placing them-Maybe someone has a suggestion to do this a better way?
Also we used a spread sheet and a internet key code with petals to seal books- 3 items equals 300 books if your items are worth 100 mil each-although It is a way to collect gold to give out for other prizes im thinking there has to be a better way

7. We were more then a little disappointed in Atlantics EM's-They were also emailed months in advance and the weeks leading up to our festival-

They told us we were allowed under 100 items that could be locked down for your yard area or events and would show up for an event if we asked

8. There were many players that reserved vendors by posting but did not show up-
I would get an ICQ or a PM from the players reserving a spot the week prior so you dont hold a space open if they have not replied. Also ask for the toon they will be bringing -Many came with a different toons name that didnt match their stratics post name

IMO, a proposal should only be accepted as an option after the current planned event has already taken place. That way several shards can compete on it (in particular...shards that have not had a fest) and there is no confusion. If you lose on a bid, reapply again after the following fest.

Language barrier is kindda easy most of them use translator and its not that hard to deal with players there

Nice feedback!! ill add some toughts too..

3. Same happened on LS Fest, except that she showed one day just to remove an awesome gate that one of our LS EMs placed next to a vendor house.
LS EMs told us that they can only place temporary gates that will last for a day. When server goes down, the gate dissapear. In my opinion, it will be a good idea to ask for gates to the local EMs and they can ask a permanent gate to messana. (delegating responsabilities rules)
BTW, LS EMs did an awesome job on the fest. They spent so many of their free time to build a bridge that connected 2 vendor houses, they locked down deco items by request including the placement of an Archery butte that they never gave me back lol, but again, a very good job

4. On LS, we had 3 vendor houses (150 vendors total capacity) and we shared account/pwd between hosts on the main vendor house and the 2nd vendor house so vendor placement was not tied to only 1 person. In my opinion, blend, if you really trust on someone (like.. gareth? just to throw a name) that could be online on regular US times then the vendors houses account/pwd should be shared with that guy.

8. A solution here could be to reserve spots to the people that asked for a vendor on stratics, but only on the first 2 days (ie.. monday & tuesday?), then start to give out the reserved vendors to anyone on the 3rd day.
Before giving out a vendor, a ICQ/stratics confirmation should be necessary.

Blend, I think it would be cool if you added a new vendor house with shame dungeon item loots. I am sure people are hunting them like no tomorrow and yet you don't see many good ones for sale because people just don't know how to price them yet. This may be a good avenue for many players to get together and start selling them to normalize their values.
