I will maintain an official member list in this thread. If you ICQ me, I will add you to the Rare Council user group which will make it easy to keep everyone updated on what's coming up.

I must say that I'm dissappointed in the general membership roster as of yet considering the number of individuals that have both expressed interest and have stated their belief that is a needed thing which can bring something positive to the community.

I missed the post for that reason until now.

I'd like to join the rares council. I've been collecting rares for most of my 10+ years in UO, since the time when I could go out with my thief and expect to find a few serverbirths to steal out of the cities. My collection is tiny however in comparison to most, as I spend almost no time being a merchant.

Huh, why would you even bother posting that? Unless you edited that message. Sorry, I have been away for past few days and if I did not add someone as soon as they posted about wanting to become a member. Last time I checked an OPEN REGISTRATION, i.e. open for anyone interested, did not equate to elitism. However, interest in collecting rares is bit of a necessary thing and if that is not your interest then it is not for you.

I just decided that I didnt want to be in a rare council group etc. I sell rares as and when I get them, I dont know anything about them in general and I have no interest in collecting them.

I asked earlier to be a member but I just decided that I didnt need to be a member and thus asked for my earlier request to be ignored.

If you need more High Council candidates I'll nominate myself - I've very little information on what's duped or not or what exploits create what, and really don't do much merchanting.. but I do have a lot of interest in the origin of serverbirths, seer items, and EM items.

Also I know a bit about that stuff as I've been collecting rares for ten years, since the days when I could hunt down serverbirths with a thief and sell them for 10k each (not bad money in those days). Once the ability to lock down items in houses was introduced I switched to collecting only and not selling.

imho.... one of the purposes of the council should be to preserve the histories of the rares, in particular shard specific items... if that will be one of their goals, then yes, Siege should indeed be included
