Tis the season for planning.

Heartwood runic on atlantic 1.5 million.
-your not buying for what they can do now, your speculating on changes.
-at 1.5 million could you sell one for 1.8 million. 20% profit.

Blue crystals 100k or less.
I have found them lately for 100k or less. Speculate on future need hinted by DEVS.

Turkey Feathers.
-20k or less now. INSTANT INVISIBILITY. Have you tried one? I can see this being an easy 75k sell down the line. Dungeon protection.

Yellow Crystals.
Summons a harbinger and chance for robe. 699k to 1 million. Depends on how much you want to speculate. Always fun a year from now. Easy profit in 12 months.

Halloween Masks.
Hunting and buying at Luna at around 100k. Will have future turn in value. A fair cost for speculating.

THINGS NOT TO BUY.

Lucky coins over 100k. There are tons around.
Lucky sandles for over 10 million. I wouldnt pay that but 10 million or less
SA stealables. JUST beware. The market is flooding so pay a price you cant pass on.

ENJOY

Saving for a whole year? Bleh.
Quick profits are much more gratifying. (with less risk of loss)

So people should not buy Lucky Coins for 100K+ and try and get sandals cheap?

Buy 100 Coins for 100K each 10m - Drop 5-7 coins a day get your friends to help you out get 6-10 sandals out of those 100 coins + other items.

I just bought one for 8 in a low pop shard with little traffic, and I consider myself lucky. In a few months, no one will have what is essentially "uber robe of the eclipse + MR from a lieutenant sash + non replica status"

On the other hand, soles and lucky coins still have their faucets on...the prices will only go lower...

I've also always been about the quick sale.

Now, granted, I've been holding out a little bit on the EM items!

But not like I should.

That's why I'll never join the ranks of UO's super rich.

Which I'm ok with.

Original poster, though, has good advice and a nice, plausible analysis.

Agreed. Great info.. I would like to see more posts like this on current market prices. It would be great if someone (nudge nudge OP) could do a quick run down on the current hot items being bought and sold.

'Ill tell you whats been working for me this last month. This is on atl by the way. Buying lucky coins [cheepest i find is 250k but no biggy] and handing 28 a day in, i average 3 pairs of sandles a day. These fly off my vendor for 15mill each.

Next is gems, i buy these for 10k per and 25k for ecru's and craft rings. I can get 2 nice rings per 100 gems and these sell from 5m - 15m if it has the right combo's, All the others i chuck on a vendor for 500k each.

3rd is perfect emeralds at 10k per, bronze hammers at 350k per. These along with val ingots produce relic frags for 25k each and again these fly off my vendor at 7.5m for 100.

Also right now there is a huge demand for POF as every imbuer needs roughly 2 per item they want to imbue to make it 255/255, i get these on my crafter and they sell well at 110k or 2m for 20. Also getting more bods for top hammers.

Last but not least :) I have a legendary Artifice Who can imbue anything [ i spend an hour a day farming some of the harder to find ingredients] and imbue items for people with my materials, you can make lots off this as there is a steep demand for wepons and jewelry and most people pay 5-10m for you to make them an item [most of the ingredients can be easily got if you have a well established crafter e.g bods/quests/trading].

And thats my lil 2 cent for the day :) its made me over 400mill in the last monthish. MY problem is i enjoy spending it faster than i make it!!

If I only had the time.

By the way the other example of the fella that does 28 coins a day. Thats another example of being a successfull merchant through running and event to its max.

My tips are more about buying off a vendor or player and reselling.

Specializing on a specific quest or skill that is new is always a good way to make some gold.

For me, Id rather buy the gold coin for 100k and sell it for 250k.

Why? Its time friendly for me.

The time factor is my biggest judge of what to sell. When obtaining items from hunting or quests, how much you can get per hour should be the #1 factor in whether or not to continue selling a particular item.

The reseller market my lovely market :) Either way good tips for them but this aint hand walking they need to get out there and do the leg work. Research spend time on knowing what's hot whats not the going prices etc.. They are our competition after all :)

Might want to pay raven here for some of these services heh. Good luck to all and once again I bow my head to the suppliers without them there would'nt be a market.

I forgot the word they use to call your type of merchanting. It's not a reseller it's more to a Crafter merchant but am sure there could be a better word to illustrate it. I've being meaning to dabble into that type of merchanting just need to find some time.

My point with the post's is that there are many ways to be a merchant. From being a supplier to a event merchant to a reseller, crafter merchant, Specilized merchant,a resource merchant,a mix of all. good money to be made in everyway all have there Advantages and there disavantages.

If you really interested in being a merchant, figure out your nich what you good at in the merchant world. Are you good in finding bargins, haggaling, event playing, resource gathering,crafting,etc.. and start from there then spread out from your area of expertise. Do your research and spend some time on it see if you like it. Do you plan on making a few 100k a week or a few 100mil's a week you figure it out eventually concerning your time and effort you put in. Good luck.

The niche is a good tip. Once you decide, youll learn the market for your items quickly. If you know what to pay and how to sell it... you can earn gold for other endeavors.
