Quick question regarding newbie Thunter

I am up to 75.1 and found my spot for treasure map #1 for me. It's a plainly. I have right clicked on map where it says Did for Treasure and have done this all over and it keeps saying you did and dig but fail to find any treasures. I brought a shovel and an pick axe but it says I can't mind there. But I am using the map to try to dig. What am I doing wrong?

you need to dig on the EXACT location.

best is you use a T-Hunt Libary, or uo-automap.

Ok, found a library and know that I am doing this right.. I am standing on the exact spot but it's still telling me I fail.. Do I just keep trying? I am getting really frustrated. LOL

How sure are you that you're gating into the right treasure location from the library?

If it's in an area with a cluster of chest spots you could try gating into the spots around the one you think it is.

There's also the possibility that, if the books in the library are more than 3 years old, some of the spots are off. in 2004 or 2005, a bunch of us on the T-Hunter forum went around and reconfirmed all the locations indicated by the THB and Goodman systems - both had several off by a step or two - and THB had one off by over a screen, at the time (someone miskeyed it into the original list, and it never got fixed until our project).

If the spot is a Valor Island one, that could be the one that was off by so much.

Also, there appears to be an undocumented spot on the west leg of Eiffel Island - that or one spot can vary by over 5 steps west of the official location (and the maps look identical, until you try to dig)
