Quick Irk Question

Ok so for some reason today when i was fighting irk, i kept getting owned because the game wouldnt recognize me honoring him for some reason? any one know why this is? i can honor other mobs right now.

Options:
He blessed himself (thus got damaged)
You damaged it
Someone else is honoring it

In all of those cases, you should have gotten a message.

If none of those cases, then I'm stumped.

Yea I think someone else must have honored it, but it didn't give me a message for some reason. And I tried it a few times, waited between tries in case it was his life
