Questions about Exploring the Deep Quest

I have been marking the spots to do this quest. I can not find the Obsidian Wyvern in Destard, Ice Wyrm in Ice Dungeon, and Josef Skimmons at the Buc's Den Blacksmith shop. Do these only show up when you are actively on the quest?

The wyrms will only spawn while you are actively on the quest and doing that particular step. Joseph should be there regardless, whether he will talk to you or not is a different story :p
