I had have been woundering why it is that the interior decorator tool can only move things up and down (z&y axis) and not side to side (x&y axis) ?

Not sure if that z,y and x,y is correct or not but I think you all understand my question...

Thats a good question. I never really thought about that until just now.

Axes in 3d:

X = east and west
Y = north and south
Z = up and down

So effectively, the interior decorator works on the Z axis only, not on the X or Y axes, and I think It's mainly due to the positioning of the item in the according space in the art files (not everything is centered, some are near the top right, some the top left and so on) and it probably played hell with the system to move them along the X axis.

That would be my answer.
