Would it be illegal for me to macro just a phrase? Basically if I was to go to brit bank and say "buying X for X, Icq-XXXXXXXX" would that be illegal?? I'm not talking about spamming it three times over either. Just like once every 10 seconds.

Question about unattended macroing.

Macro'ing is not illegal. Unattended macro'ing is illegal. Using an unapproved third party program to macro is illegal. I don't believe standing at the bank saying something over and over is illegal.
like D'Amavir said, doing that while attended is fine. but if you're planning to set up the macro and then leave the room and wait for someone to ICQ you, that's illegal.

Actually, this was one of the first things that came about when the game came out. In Moonglow, by the teleporters in the maze, a guy had his house and vendor just off the teleporter exit. He had a in game macro running where he would say, "Use the teleporter behind me for great deals".
