Question about our new distilleries… for the more experienced.

I’m just wondering…

When doing all the brews, are all bottles that results from the boozes all come out looking like normal bottles?

As, for example, when we had the cornucopias come out… they give (still give) 2 worthless special bottles of wine. One is kind of off yellow… and the other is bright purple. There are other bottles and special names from other events, but these are more common from the NPC ship hunts. You get several per container and all that.

I’m just trying to figure out what the deal is… as these distilleries are really cute for artwork and décor… but I don’t see a practical usage. It's bad enough we can't give them very long names at all… so like if you have a mall or event of any kind, you sure can't put enough information on. For example “Christmas Pixie Brew of the Red & Purple Mall 2011”. I don't think you could even get “Christmas Pixie” because it's so amazingly limited. Poor designing, I’d say.

Image wise,there's no difference between what a distiller makes and what is bought at an NPC. You'd have to mouse over the bottle to see that it is made by a player.

"Christmas Pixie" would just fit in the 15 character limit.


Edit: There is not a practical use for player made brews,it is only a fun thing to do and it gives us an option over just saying we made the liquers then running to a barkeeper to buy them like in years past.

Hued and player made? I have made each spirit except the one calling for dates,and all the ones I have made are "normal" and look no different than what can be bought from an NPC.

Possible "easter egg"? Maybe a small chance to rehue when taken from the keg perhaps.

“Christmas Pixie” would be a lot better with “2011” and that would go over. hehe

15 characters is just not enough. I mean, when this whole thing was coming out as an idea… I really did have high hopes for player event items seeing we don’t have any ability to really name anything else that it would make a nice keepsake for those who participate. It's not like with the EMs who can make just about anything happen… including sashes. Maybe the designers need to come up with a clothing item naming tool. We do have the leather container one, spell book, wooden containers, metal containers… then the vet reward one that does weapons. These still art as fun as a colored bottle of booze with a nice name on it.

You see, time and time again… people end up loosing items because they look too normal. I remember some guy extremely upset that he lost an extremely rare Christmas food treat “A reindeer treat”. As so few actually receive these… and gone because it wasn’t colored. EM made issue. We have none of those powers.

I have made 2 kegs of each liquor on the release date with names like : satan's choice, Pirate juice, canadian club, 5 skulls, Jolly Roger's , Mariner's Best, caribou. .. The Idea that there's a chance for a hued bottle is really cool. Id like a confirmation on that.

Itd be nice if the bottles kept the dates from the kegs.

I would also like if we could name the distillery instead of having the player's name as a distiller. no hurry, just on the wishlist.

The one thing I like is you can let the finished product sit in the barrel forever before you get your drinks.

I've only done two batches and no colors yet I don't think.

To OP, point of brewing is just to create content when you want to create it, I guess, for special situations and all. Can also throw the bottles at other players, which is sort of neat, and it gives a Valentine tag, from: to: kind of thing.
