Returning player (way back in the day).

Has it become alot easier to make gold? I have been following guide for the template I wish to play but alot of the items are hella expensive from the vendors I have seen (Few mil a item).

The first million is the hardest. There are lots of ways to make gold. What kind of template are you using?

I was going to build myself a Sampire. Figure I would start with a PvM toon till I got used to the different playstyle then try out a pvp oriented toon ( Quit just after AoS came out, didnt play it for long)

The template:
The following skills are required:
120 melee skill
120 bushido
120 parry
100 (or 99) necromancy
90 tactics (100 suggested)
60 chivalry

For the skill up process I was thinking a 100% lower reagent set would do wonders, but those are pricey as can be.

Sampire is a good option. Don't worry about 100 lrc on your sampire suit. If you can, try to get a starter suit with resists in the 60s and as much defense chance increase as possible (45 is max).

A good place for a newish sampire to farm gold is the Painted Caves. The troglodytes will die quickly to a soul seeker and carry around 600 gold each.

One high-end monster an experienced sampire is very good at soloing is miasma. Much of miasma's loot (especially jewelry, it seems) can be unraveled into relic fragments, which sell for 50k each.

One way I've made money is IDOCing and placing houses after they fall. I IDOCed for a couple of months and managed to sell 3 nearly max-sized houses for between 20 and 25 mil ea.

You might also consider joining a guild. I know UWF has nightly guild hunts and splits the loot at the end between those who want a cut. Because most vets donate their portions, cuts are usually between 30k - 100k each night.

I will try to track down a a starter suit with ~60 resists, and hunt down these painted caves, and also look at getting into UWF.

I try not to talk-up UWF too much. There are lots of great guilds on Atlantic. I have found that all of the bigger ones are, for the most part, brimming with nice, helpful people: LLTS, HOT/HEAT, TDT, Ni, etc. would all be good choices.

That said, if you're 18+ and enjoy PvM, you'd be welcome to try UWF. Grab any ol' UWFer and ask for an emissary. We're a good bunch, I think, assuming we've all had our meds.

Dexxor suits are cheap and easy to make. for your guy i would do:
120 weapon
120 bush
120 parry
100 tactics
100 necro
100 ss
60 chiv
i carry vamp embrace scrolls for when i do die which is seldom. The jewlery is the hardest part but if you do imbueing then even that is an easy one to get. I do chug pots incase of emergencies. I am not sure about most who have sampires but I love the leaf blade for a weapon they are fast ,hit hard, and their specials are fient and ai so you can do massave damage and when you are getting into trouble you can use fient to lower your attackers damage out put on you. Works great!!!
As for a suit if you can get someone or can do it yourself but most your dci and you hci will be on your jewlery. You are wanting your dci up around 60 and your hci up in the 50s. I know the cap is 45 but their are monsters that do drop your defense chance with their specials. You want 40 lmc and super high fire cause vamp embrace drops your fire by like 25. You want 122 dex and at least 100 str that is with items. I use mace n shields for the stats and the hit lower d. the rest is just learning the char so that you dont die. once you get the char done and learn to play it you will be very pleased with it. Just be sure on your weapon to have stam and mana leach on it life leach is negotiable and carry plent of pig iron to curse weapon in the crunch times.
