Question about CC expiration date and NEW Management page...

I have a question about my Credit Card used to pay for my Ultima Online subscription monthly fees.

My card expired, and I got the new one in with the new expiration date.

Now, the Credit Card number did not change, nothing changed other than the expiration date.

Am I supposed to edit anything on the NEW Management Page as in regards the new expiration date ? How am I supposed to get it done if it is necessary (is there like a step by step guide ?).

Thanks.

Popps if you tried looking then you wouldnt have needed to raise your post count by 1.

The thread How on earth do you remove billing info would have been a good start. There is also an older thread with more info. Plus the countless other threads about account problems.

However just because I was already working on this after the earlier thread on billing here you go: Account Management

Try this thread, popps, for information on how to update your credit card information:

http://vboards.stratics.com/uhall/250766-changing-billing-information-after-imputed.html

I do not know what happens if you don't update the expiration date manually. Haven't run into that situation yet. Maybe someone who has will be kind enough to tell you whether they (1) did nothing and were still charged automatically; (2) were notified by EA that they needed to update the information before any more billings would occur; or (3) just couldn't log in after their account closed and figured out they had to update their card info.

Or maybe one of our fabulous community support folks will see this thread, since you started it and your threads usually become "hot" quickly, and figure out that we all could use this information and publishing a short little guide in English would be a good thing to do. Maybe they can even get some help from the team in Japan. One of them might provide a translation of this page from the UO Japan site: ƒNƒŒƒWƒbƒgƒJ[ƒhî•ñ‚Ì•ÒW‚âíœ

Sorry, but I tried reading up first a bit but the informations that are out there sounded confusing at least to me and I just hoped that some other player in my same situation (after all my issue of CC expiration date coming should be rather frequent.....) might simply tell me step by step how to do it if it was a necessary update......

Most of the posts I read about Management issues ended up with suggestions to call them over the phone which, if I can, I'd rather avoid and do it online.
But since the process does not look exactly a walk in the park from the posts I have read, I thought it best to ask first about this specific change.

Sorry about it.

P.S. By the way, I have started reading the link you suggested to me. and it suggests "Select any of the 3 billing cycles and click continue.".

Now, since I have read several cases of "double billing", how do I know that selecting ANEW the same billing cycle which I have right now won't send some prompt to charge my CC even though my account is already paid for (I use 6 months billing) ?

I mean, I know I will eventually figure out by seeing the charge on my CC, but then it will be a headache to have it reverted.....

I just hate the idea that I have to "re-selct" my billing cycle even though I am maintaining it just the same just to continue the editing process......

Popps if you are reading and following the instructions then you will see that NO WHERE are you confirming your order.
You are simply navigating your way to the manage accounts section that is relevant for Editing card details.

EDIT - Popps if it helps I used this exact method to remove my card - hence why my screenshot doesn't show any edit/delete options on the last screen. Had no billing issues whatsoever

Note: I didn't just suggest it - I created it!

It's really easy Popps, I've had to do it several times.

Log into your account management page

Select the account you want to edit the info on

IF you're subscription is active, click on Update Renewal at the bottom

Like Kayne said, chose a payment option (The way to get to the CC management page is a bit skewed and needs to be adjusted but right now this is it)

So click on $12.99 (one month) or whatever...click continue

Now BEFORE you go any further, at the very top right corner is Manage Accounts, click on that.

Now you should see a listing of all your payment options on the right hand side. For each one, there's a little (edit) button.

Click on that and edit your exp. date and you're good to go...don't forget to click on Save and continue at the bottom.

I was never double-billed, never had any problems doing this.

Well, I am not sure whether I did anything wrong but I tried to follow the info at the UO Stratics *New* | Account Management link, ended up having the possibility to edit my existing CC, changed the expiration date to the new one and then, after clicking the "SAVE" button I got sent to a page where I can either "CONFIRM" or "CANCEL".

Problem is, that this page, among the others says....
I omitted, for privacy, where I put instead <gibberishcode> and <nameaccount>

Review Changes for This Session

Listed below are the changes you have chosen to make during this session. Please either confirm or cancel these changes.

Apply <gibberish code> to the Game Account <gibberishcode> - <nameaccount>
Title Amount
<gibberishcode> $ 59,99
Tax: $ 4,80
Total: $ 64,79
CONFIRM CANCEL
And then, in green, some worrying text (at least to me...).

By making your subscription purchase today and by clicking CONFIRM, you authorize EA to automatically charge the then-current renewal subscription fee (plus any applicable taxes) to your credit or debit card without any additional action by you prior to the expiration of your product subscription. Your subscription will continue to automatically renew until canceled. You may cancel the automatic renewal service at any time by contacting customer support. To cancel your subscription, visit the account subscription main page and then click the "Cancel Subscription" button next to the appropriate product account.

I bolded the part that worried me (automatic charge...)
Now, I am not sure whether the above means that I get charged right upon pressing the CONFIRM button (which would end up with me being double charged since my subscription is still paid for.....) or whether it means that whenever my paid for term ends, THEN the automatic charge will apply.

Anyways, not being sure either way, I cancelled.

Anyone's gone through editing the CC for expiration date already who can advice me ?

Or do I also need to call them over the phone to avoid me messing up and doing mistakes which could cost me headaches ?

Thanks.
P.S. I wished we still had the older account management set up a thousand times !!!

Thanks, saw that after my last post, went through your indications and ended up getting it done without needing to press any confirm button.
I double checked, and it seems it got my new expiration date so, apparently, all is good.

Thanks a bunch.

My brother had an issue with this as well. His CC expired and the new one had the same number. The system said it was not a new card and wala he had to call to resolve!

Just a note that the account management page has been updated for clarity and also to include some more screens for those who actually do have card info or active subscriptions. Thanks to Larisa for the help in getting that extra info
