Hi, i haven't played in awhile and was wondering if they changed armor stats at all? Like when plate had higher stats then leather so people actually wore it. Last time i came back leather seemed to be the best so smithing was a bit of bummer. Any new info would be nice since this new expansion is out thanks.

The Samurai Empire plate armor is now the preferred armor, as it comes with Mage Armor ( can be meditated in) when crafted exceptionally (takes using an ancient smithy hammer along with the runic), and runics got a HUGE boost about 18 months ago, to where they are not only easier to come by (from a change this year), they are also significantly more powerful.
Imbueing can be used to customize an iron or leather piece to be pretty much what you want it to be, but it's a much more temporary item as a result (can't have its durability raised after imbuing).
