hey guys, wondering if you could help me out with tactics and wotnot

most of you know im a peace tamer, I use frenzieds a lot, but I can controll anyhitng with jewls.

I like to stay mounted, instead of stealthing, I might drop stealth not sure yet.

I was fighitng albertus maximus earlier, and we were not able to kill eachother.

I was able to keep his pets off me with peace, but i couldnt finish him off. I tried frenzieds and wall of stone, but its hard in open area, and I tried hiryu for dismount, that didnt work either.

For my play style, which is mostly anti tamer, im wondering if i could get some help with tactics, and perhaps pet combos. im wondering if i should get mage and eval, instead of stealth as well.

thoughts?

Kill his pet?

Give us your template, and pets, otherwise not much advice to give.

Giving that info will of course make people aware of your weaknesses.

I am personally a fan of running a pair of bake kitsunes. They are strong casters, have about 350 hit each, and very high fire resist - max of 90. They are obviously no match for a GD 1 on 1, but have a very high dmg output, and can take a fire breath pretty well with 90 fire resist. If your target is a mage, they have that bleed-like attack that makes it very difficult to cast.

With that said, I hate pets in PvP, but these work great in the situations where I've been forced to defend myself.

Im running taming lore vet music peace, 60 mage, hide stealth

im probly going to drop stealth, for eval, and gm magery

his pets arent the problem, i took them out of the battle

my problem was that i couldnt finish him off.

I think I need more personal damage, as well as pets that spell cast.

The hiryu was nice, but was slow, same with ostards

ill probly go duel bakes, and cast spells from now on.

If your ossies aren't 100% trained and full stamina when commanded, you won't get the killshot.

Rarely, anyway.

If you GM mage/eval, para + X-factor, then lay the birdy smackdown...

Hey man, it was fun and yeah, it was a tie. If you're gonna be a caster you should have Eval. As per pets, depends on what you like. The 2 bakes are very effective but, low on health and any Bushido will just kill them both no problem. I like Nightmares cause they have fire breath and they hit hard. (500+ Str) The problem with mares is they are slow. (only 125 dex, while Bakes have 130+)

Just remember there are other bards out there and one disc and your pets are bye bye.

I have to admit that tamer/bards kick ass against other tamers. I am thinking of trying it myself. The problem is that you will have no room for defense skills against casters or dexers. :)

But other players here can give you better info when it comes to templates.

IMO, try them all and stick with what you like.

I will see you again in the field of battle. ;-)

I think the best pvp pet combo ive seen is rune mare.

I used that on baja and got way more kills.

I didnt do bake rune because i was too lazy to train up bakes (they start with WAY low wrestle.)

Only problem was that I couldnt be mounted.

I might consider pvping with only a beetle, and using the 2 slots to ride a unicorn, which will help with poison maybe. or a mare, so if I am fighitng someone who is not mounted, I can dismount.

I think you are on the right path with the nightmare and rune beetle. Keep your peacing to take out the other pets. Eval would be ok but I don't think it would be required. The beetle and you at max casting using poison and mind blast should make most guys think twice

Without a doubt 100% sure thee deadliest combo is dread/bake. I'm not goin into specifics but if anyone disagrees i can surely start playin my tamer :)

I use hell hounds on my peace tamer. pack jus like frenzy. and with peace they are off the chain. they block in, and bust a munch. highly effective. get 4 or 5 and with peace you can take down a ww in litterly 2 secconds. good for pvp too due to the block in and pack fire ball blow. give it a whirl. wont be disapointed. er maybe you might. who knows.

mage tamer, I'd ride a dread warhorse or cu or do beetle and mare combo... because exp + all kill + flame strike =

disco tamer, Id ride cu

stealth tamer, Id use greater drag

necro mage (factioner) I'd run bake kits...

chiv bok dexer, Id use hyru

peace tamer... i have no clue... lol.

sticks around long enough? obviously you have no idea how to perform the combo...

you cast explosion, click target, cast flame strike and before cursor for FS comes up... you hit all kill and then last target... and now your FS target cursor should be up and ready to be delivered with lots of love.

if done right the explosion, your beetle eating their face and flame strike should all go off... BOOM BOOM POW ktksbye

Sounds strange but you should give 5 scorps a go.

I know that means youll be of mount, but trained up with 100poison pretty much every other hit, they either smash through there pots in seconds or they die.

Only problem is they have low resist and of course only 125max hp.

If you're going for a pvp pack, scorpions aren't gonna kill many of the more experienced players. They just don't have the top-end potential.

I hear hellcats and frost spiders can be fun.

scorpions dont do enough damage. and poison doesnt get pack instincts.

really you need a pet with a ranged attack. for my pack im considerin hell hounds.

it is just too east especialy on a mount to outrun pets without ranged attacks
