hello all,
recently returning to UO after a 2 yr break, and im making a necro/mage
i have gm
mage/med/eval/necro/ss
wondering what my 6th skill or possible stretch to 7 skills. im open to any suggestions, just try and keep it pvp.
ive talked to many individuals in game and it always seems to lead to what does good against monsters :p
also looking for a good guild to join to help me out with training, and a group to run with for awhile would be great.
thanks!

Standard necro/mage is as follows:

120 mage
120 eval
120 med
120 resist
120 necro
120 SS

Training this toon is easy: the expensive part is equipping him. How you equip him depends on your resources.

A standard, top-quality, PvP necro/mage suit often includes: inquisitor's resolution (30 mil); folded steel reading glasses (9 mil); armor of fortune (12 mil); ornament of the magician (12 mil); crystalline ring (16 mil); -25 or lower mage weapon, one-handed, no casting penalty, with dci (25+ mil); crimson cincture (14 mil); quiver of infinity; totem of the void (or alchemist tally); custom arms, legs, and gorget. Obviously, this is very costly.

If you're a little short on 100 mil, become friends with an imbuer . . . or join factions. Definitely join a PvP guild.

If you're just looking for just a basic suit, aim for 100 lrc (obviously), 2/6 fc/fcr, 40 lmc, 5+ mr. These items are non-negotiable, in my view. If you're using a mage weapon, 45+ dci will greatly increase your chance to evade melee attacks. Also, spell damage increase is an obvious plus.

Be sure to check out the Atlantic guild listings in this thread. A good guild can make all the difference.

Pvp without 120 skills is futile. Don't even bother.

You can get away with THIS: GM magery, gm inscription 120 eval, 120 parry, 120 resists. Get 80 dex with 40dci and be a parry mage. Spam e-bolts. Maybe even get Bushido.
