PvM Stealth archer - Chiv or Bush?

Just curious, am thinking of making a stealth archer (I want the stealth to help me "run away" from beasties, cos my connection is too slow to *actually* run away =P And I just like the skill =))

What I was wondering though was whether Chiv or Bush would be better?

I'm actually thinking Chiv - but with enough Bush for LS? Is there a "spot" for bush that never fails LS?

Thinking this for the template:
Archery - 120
Tactics - 90
Anat - 90
Healing - 90
Stealth - 100
Hiding - 100
Chiv - 80
Bush - whatever I can cram in there

It's either that or drop the bushido completely, and up the tactics/anatomy etc

Thanks in advance for any advice!

*edits* changed title to reflect it's a pvm question =)

What do you plan on using this character for? In essence you could drop stealth down and use Shadow Dancer Leggings and leave stealth Real at like 75.

If you're planning on being an aid like character, and popping out for RK's and such no need for chiv as it'll take time to cast spells, time which you may not have. And specials would be more important to me as a stealth archer instead of using LS/bushido as you have to stop to shoot...Which you don't really want to have to do, that means the person is either a few tiles ahead of you now and you gotta make up ground, or they're that much closer to you.

Why not get ninjitsu? Get a balanced bow so you can throw DP darts/stars while chasing someone down with moving shot?

And how do you expect to 'run' away from monsters when in trouble as the easiest way to get outta harms way is a mirror image + smoke bomb? With which you need at least 50 ninjitsu. If a monster has you targetted, you gotta be somewhat offscreen otherwise you get the You cannot hide message then you gotta wait for the timer to let you hide again.

Lower stealth to 80, wear the shadow dancer legs. Lower arch to 100, wear the hunters headdress. Forget chiv and bush and get spirit speak and ninja. Go to fel, follow ghosts around in animal form, shoot them when they res. This should entertain you for a few weeks.

If you see no ghosts, dismount reds at the yew gate for the blues and follow the red's ghost afterwards.

Ah, sorry, I said "beasties", meaning PvM =)

The character will be purely for pvm, as I said, the stealth is to help me run away when I am in a tight spot =)

*edits* Oh, and I think I need 100 stealth, cos I have non-medable armour =) I'm trying to find out what I need to have never fail stealth with non-med armour too =)

How much and what non-med armour do you have on? I noticed that if I have GM stealth and hiding and only the Jackels Collar, then I usually don't have any problems stealthing around, but if I threw on the Leggings of Bane then just about anything and everything reveals my char.

I would also agree that ninjitsu would be a better fit for your char if the reason your using stealth and hiding is to be able to get away in tight spots. Just set a maco that slaps a bandaid on and then hits the smoke bomb, and stealth away. You can also go into dog form for faster regen rates or wolf form for faster speed and damage.

Jackals is my only non-med piece as well =)

I've never used Ninjitsu, but it seems a waste to me, cos I can as easily drink an invis potion to get me immediately hidden and help me get away (unless you don't need hiding if you use a smoke bomb?) As an aside, wolf form for faster speed probably wont help me, cos it seems that anythign that is supposed to help me move faster actually slows me down (I assume just cos my conneection is so slow) for example, i get from A to B faster on foot, than I do riding a charger most of the time =)

*goes off to read up on ninjitsu some*

Well... wearing non-medable armor is going to cost some skill points then. It's a lot easier to make a more viable template with those 20 points freed up from lowering stealth and archery.

And remember that you CAN'T hide on screen with your aggressor. Hence, the ease of use of a smoke bomb.

With stealth/ninja/hiding/SS (like was suggested) you've got abilities to RK, dismount, move at quicker speeds(while stealthed) throw DP darts/stars, mirror image or gank situations to take some hits and this will work for both PvP/PvM. Granted people outside your guild wont like your tactics, but oh well.

This kind of template would be good for alright damage and good survivability if played right. The crappy part with invis pots, is I believe you can still be interrupted with them.

What kind of PvM are you doing that you need this kind of template?

It's not a need, I just want to try playing a stealth archer, as I said, I like the stealth skill =) Plus it will help me get *to* places that I can't usually get to without dying several times (not to mention hopefully getting me *out* of places also!)

I've been reading a bit on ninjitsu, and kinda like the sound of it, just not sure it suits me, or my play style =) But I might try it for a while and see - no harm in throwing it on the character and taking it off if I decide I don't like it =)

Thanks for the suggestions.

Just remember that in order to stealth you gotta be hidden first... which can be extremely hard in a high traffic spawn area. Hence the reason ninjitsu is nice so you can use smoke bombs no matter what.
