Puzzle room question....

if the "out of order wall " is gone,and we can do the puzzle again, can someone explain me how player can see the "save" route to the room?

that´s what i was thinking,and i used it, but(maybe i am ) but dont understand how it works,most time i see a empty mapring,sometimes there are 2 arrows.
