Are there different locations for the single puzzle board?

Because I have done it three times and got three pedestals.

Are you sure about this? I've done the puzzle board in the Hall of Death probably 20 times without getting a single stalagmite or flowstone.

I think there's some confusion as to which puzzles this thread is about.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but this thread is about the first puzzle room you come to when you enter the Underword.. ie get a blue key, go to the next room, solve the 3 boxes, move to the next area, hop from color to color.

The Puzzle Boards are the ones located 1/2 down the hallway and can be done 1 times/24 hours/toom.

As far as I know the rewards for that puzzle box are:

Totem
Pedestal
Pillows (2 variety)
3.0 SoT scrolls
30 ingredients (variety)
Dough board
Bread board

The thread is about both. Originally the rewards list was divided into two sections, one part for each puzzle. But then he merged them in the OP because he says that both puzzles give the same rewards, which is what I am questioning.

No suggestion.
Only time.
You need to take x amount of solves and write down the reward.

Realistically with all the rewards they have assuming each one has an equal chance, youll need like 1000 instances.

Now maybe they are group for first roll and then item is selected. Like you receive stalags as reward (counts as whole group) and then your given 1 type randomly versus each type counting as 1 individual chance.

So... time and information.

Given that I do both puzzles about 5 times per day, I call bologna. I've never gotten a reward from the colored room that matches those down the long hallway.

I counted them up, and I have a total of 26 rewards from the Hall of Death puzzle (I still haven't managed to get by the third color puzzle room), and not a single stalagmite, flowstone, tapestry, or any of the other stuff that people have been getting from the color room. It's possible that the Hall of Death rewards are a proper subset of the Color Room ones, but I seriously doubt that you can get stalagmites or flowstones from the Hall of Death puzzle, at minimum.

Where. Are. These. Puzzles. Located. ?.
Along the corridor to the green goblin area.

You know where the undead room with the secret entrance to the colour room is? Exit from the door in the North of that room and keep going on. Go past the strangling vines, into the next room to the north, follow the corridor east, turn north when you reach a metal grill/gate.

Keep pressing ctrl+shift. You'll know when you reach the corridor when you see object handles of rows upon rows of "floor tiles"

Edit: Just in case you don't know where the colour room is, it's in the room with undead mobs and 2 sparklie teleporters. The south teleporter leads you to a small area next to the underground river. The north sparklie will lead you close to the greater posion elemental area. The secret entrance is on the west the wall between the 2 sparklies. If you are heading there for the first time, you might want to activate circle of transparency to more easily find the secret door (doors don't turn transparent)

When you go in the fire island entrance and straight down that hall, theres a little alcove north of the slimes. Go in there and double click that key. Then go south, wrap around past the acid slimes in the pit and go north again. Double click those double doors and it will pop you into the three chest room.

These are the puzzles you need to do in order to get a gem of experimentation (?) so that you can do the color puzzle. Do either of the southerly gold chests, it will give you a token, and once you do those two puzzles you can do the northernmost chest.

The gem you get is used in the color room which is farther down in the dungeon. Leave this room, head west and run past the bloodworms/rotworms, wrap around to the north then east then go north again and take the path headed NW to where the low level undead are. There is a hidden wall between two pillars on the west wall in this room, it is in the middle of a wall that has two sparkly gates on either end of it. Click on the wall, go in, and you're in the color room.

To get to the hall of ouchies you would go north through the minor undead room, go through a single door, then east thru double doors, hit the stupid traps, more doors, then you'll come into a brown area with two hallways leading off north. The one of the left is ok to use but there are goblins and you can get hit by hall o' ouchie traps people set off.

Go into a little alcove to the east of the hall o death (all the tiles light up on ctrl + shift btw) There is a golden compass, double click that to take it. Move near the hall o ouchies and open your compass if it doesn't open, Move it out of the way but where you can still see it and walk east or west along the bottom of the tiles untill an arrow pops up on the compass radar (it will be blank before this). Follow the arrow one step at a time. Heal up if you are hurt. The puzzle room is halfway down the hall on the east side. You can use the compass to get in and out, but it will expire so if you log out in that room (can't recall) you'll have to get hit a lot to get out. Also the configuration changes each day so don't count on making a map of it.

That's what I was looking for. Thanks Sarsmi!
Lemme know if you need a map, or help with the puzzles. It took me ten minutes to figure out what was going on with the point A to point B puzzle, hehe. For the single puzzle box off the trapped hallway there are complete cheats at uoguide, which I suggest using if you're unfamiliar with the rules. Just search for "puzzle board".

Sarsmi, what's this "chain puzzle" that I've been reading about? Is that the one that you have to use the blue key to start it, and the same one I made the post about yesterday?

Does anyone know how to put statues on the pedestals? I have tried several times and they just won't go on. I guess I could try to set the statue down and raise it up then put the pedestal under it. Will that work?

A map would be wonderful. I'm still not exactly sure how everything fits together, and what makes up what from the 3 (?) different puzzles. From what I've been reading, and what you wrote earlier, I'm assuming that the "Hall of Death" is a stand alone puzzle which you solve once you get through the Hall (wherever that is...). Then the one with 3 boxes in the room that I got stuck in last time I tried, which seems to have multiple parts. Isn't there also another one?

The hall of death one is a standalone puzzle.

The 3 boxes one is linked to the colour room. So it's a 6 part chain puzzle. (3 boxes + 3 colour rooms).

These are the 2 this particular post is referring to.

Use teleport.

Other than that, I think it's just one of those things that some people are pretty good at off the bat and others find it to be endlessly frustrating. I fall in the latter category.

Ok, that I can do since I'm on my mage. What about the colors themselves? How do I go about making sure the thing stays grey, or goes back to it?

Alrighty! Some maps, I stole Tinas and re-used it to show where to go.

E = entrance
1 = key room, pick up the key to do the three chests for the experimental room, there is a timer on it
2 = this is the three chest room, just north of the acid slugs
3 = this is where the color room is, the hidden door is in the middle of the west wall in the undead room
4 = the hall of death
5 = the single puzzle box

The route you take from the entrance:

Key room for the three chest room:

Inside three chest room:

Double click one of the two gold boxes on the south side and then double click the token you get. You have to move from the upper left corner to the bottom right corner, I have made one move (to the right):

I keep notes on what directions I've gone in a notepad:

More clearly, the path I have taken to get to the bottom right (when you fail on a guess you start all over, which is why you need to write down which way is successful):

A different, easier puzzle (the second one, completing it lets me access the third, northern box):

It's mastermind! Try to guess the correct colors in the correct slots. fFirst select which slot (where the checkmarks go on the bottom row), then pick a color to go in that space. Hit the return arrow to enter your guess:

I guess two colors at a time to make it easier:

Bad guess! You get zapped or poisoned for bad guesses:

When you have done this puzzle successfully you get a gem!

Going to the color room from the undead room:

The front of the color room. You must use the gem, it will start the timer (half an hour I think), and then double clicking the doors teleports you inside:

You have to pick the opposite color (type) from what the gem is showing and be standing on that color tile when the gem changes. So when it is blue (freezing) you must run or teleport to stand on red (heat). Or whatever.

Colors and their converses:
pink/white
red/blue
gold/lime green
brown/dark green

This might be tough for a color blind person however Jermosh came up with an SA client workaround so he could be teleported to the right area when the color pops up.

That thread is here.

Heading north then east to the single puzzle box, this is the south side of the death hallway, the mouse is hovering over the golden compass:

When you stand on the first row of the tiles on the south (or far north) side, the compass radar will pop up. As you can see, the radar is empty:

You have to move east or west along this row in order to find the starting tile, when it is next to you the radar will show an arrow:

I moved my radar to the bottom because it has a big transparent background that interferes with walking on the ground. So just move it way out of the way but still visible so you can see where to go.

Now devote a few minutes of your time to navigating with the compass down the hallway. It will show you the two ways you can go (where you are going, where you came from):

Thats it! OOp, the last puzzle in the single puzzle room is some kind of dot arranging puzzle thingy, you can find the solvers at uoguide.com.

You stand on the converse color. Like light green is poison and gold is lesser cure. So if you get light green, stand on the gold. Or vice versa. I put directions in my pic heavy post. *points up*

Ok, so how do you neutralize the orb in each room so you can move on to the next? I think I've about gotten the hang of which spot to teleport to depending warm, cold, etc, I just can't figure out how to move on to the next room..

edit- I figured out the answer to this question.

And thank you for all those pics and info. That helps me out a lot! I really do suck at these puzzle things....

I see that. I finally managed to make it to the 3rd room one time, but I failed and by that time only had about a minute left, so I'll have to give it another go. Do I have to wait 24 hours to try it again or can I keep trying since I failed?

I think there's a 2 hour cool down. But you have to get the magic key and retry from 3 box room again.

In the 3rd colour room, a number of people had success using teleport. I just use the west side of the room. Just stand on the lesser cure and cold tiles for 2 cycles if the gem turns lethal poison/hot.

I stay close to where the 4 colours meet and just need to move 1 tile to get to whichever colour I need.

Using teleport works for me. My problem is keeping the colors straight lol. I'll give it another try later on today.

On a high note, I finished the Hall puzzle and got myself a nice little 3.0 Veterinary for my efforts.

Now, there's a 24 hour cooldown on this quest right? Is that per character, so I could bring others in, or is that per account?

Thanks to both Sarsmi and Harlequin. I wouldn't have been able to do it without ya.

Glad to help :D

You can complete each puzzle every 24 hour per character. So you can bring your other chars on the same account that can handle themselves and get past the spawns.

The 2 hour cool-down is for retrying if you failed the chain puzzle.

With the recent changes to soulstones, this will be a non issue since I have GM Hiding and 85 stealth on my mage that can easily be swapped over onto other chars.

So far I've gotten 2 pillows, 1 3.0 Vet SoT, 1 pedestal, and a stack of 30 void essence with one more character to go. I'll save the 2nd try on the other puzzle for after my daughter gets out of school.

Edit- Last attempt for the day was another pedestal.

This is a cool puzzle. I hope they don't let the rewards get stale though, and change them up every so often. It's an easy system to make changes to so it shouldn't be a big deal.
