Protected from Demons?

One of the characters on an account that I aquired cannot be targeted by demons. I posted this a few months ago, but still haven't been able to figure out what's going on. Here's the story:

He was red at one time, so I decided to work his karma up in the fan dancer dojo. When I arrived at the demon room in the dojo, I dropped a couple EVs by some demons. Oddly, the EVs wouldn't attack the demons. I dispelled the EVs and summoned an earth elly instead, telling it to "kill" and targeting the demon. The elly refused to attack and I received a message saying, "You can not force your pet to attack a creature you are protected from." I released the earth elly and stood by the two demons. They wouldn't go agro on me, no matter how much I ran around. I killed them with spells and two new demons appeared. They wouldn't agro me, either. Frustrated, I recalled to the demon temple. Same story there.

Other creatures will flag me, including balrons and succubi, but not demons. He’s not in a faction. In fact, he’s in a guild without faction affiliation, which would be impossible if he were aligned with a particular faction.

Anyone know what's going on or had this happen? See a screenie below.

The character's name is Goku. Dunno why I blanked the name out when I first posted this. I also posted it in a shard-specific forum. I hadn't been back on Stratics long, heh.

The only thing I can think of that really stuck out at me was the fact that Goku was red at one point. If you have another red character, check the aggro with that character at say the Daemon Temple, and see what happens.

Otherwise, I've never heard of anything like it in all my years of UO. Nothing you do causes aggression?

@Oblivion: My thief has gone red a couple times, but demons at the demon champ tend to aggro him just fine. No other characters on the account seem to have Goku's immunity.

@Merion: He may have been SL at one time. I'm not sure. I know for sure that he's not currently in a faction, though.

I wish I can have the same ability. Don't ask why and embrace the fact that demon won't attack you. You are the third ppl that happen. last time was long ago, not sure how but when ppl long in the wear unable to attack demon. took some time since few ppl were hunting demon.

An SL bug sounds like the right track. If you're immune to any other kind of demon kin, or anything else though, that be sorta weird.

What you might be able to do to fix char is unguild char and have him join an opposing faction, then quit and see what happens. But that's a lot of time.
