private houses can things vanish if not locked down?

well as the above says i am a player that comes back after a few years and i build a house make it private and put a chest on the second floor this morning it was gone (i didend lock it down)
also in the timme i had to accounts and could login with 2 chars but the second account does not shows on the EA pages ?
any sugestions ?

About your first question, yes. Things in private homes that are not in a secure or locked down state will disappear after a period of time. Always make sure to lock down or secure anything in your home that you don't want to lose. As to your second question I cannot answer that but you have to pay separately for each account you want to reactivate. If the account is old you may have to contact UO customer service to reactivate it. I am sure someone with more knowledge than I will give you a better answer to this problem.

Items do decay - quickly for some (Newbie items) and a little longer for others. If I remember correctly, the only items that do not decay are those over 255 stones. Hope you did not lose much of value.

used to be fun back in the day, used to load up ships full of bags because nothing would decay. now everything useful decays but on the plus side stables don't require you to refresh pets anymore. but can't stable packhorses w/ items, haha.

While training crafters you can craft a bunch of items in your home, drop them on the floor and they will decay in a few hours.

I have a small piece of blackrock that has been on the floor for months though.
