Does anyone know what the going rate for a Valorite runic hammer is?

Ok, Because I got one yesterday, Im thinking about using it. But time will tell. I know imbueing makes some great weapons that makes runic hammers less valuable. But I think a valorite runic hammer can even make a better weapon and still have self repair on it.

Congrats on the third ever Valorite Runic hammer on Siege (I think it's the 3rd right?)!
It CAN make a much better weapon. Problem is with the randomness of the properties you get, most often you'll get like Hit lightening 48, lizardman slayer, spellchanneling fc -1, hit life leech 50, Cold resist 14, DI 43. Woo hoo! At least now you can turn it into relic fragments.
If they really wanted to make high end runics useful again, they'd allow us to pick the properties we wanted by utilizing the same imbuing ingredients.
I agree, or perhaps make it so you eliminate properties, so that say you have 8 properties avail, and the hammer does random of these, and random intensities. Really not that much better then imbue. But you will get more properties with it, if you get that magic combo you are after.

Does anyone know how to print screen without using the print screen button. Right now Im using my mac in windows and mac keyboard doesnt have a print screen.

basically its a 4th, as pikas was used down to 1 charge left and a public made it back to 15 uses. so he pretty much got to burn two val hammers.

While it is an accomplishment.. this is the first hammer after the changes to BoDs that made Val hammers a lot easier to get.
Congrats! I was wondering who would be the next person to get one. I thought about going for a second one, but just thinking about bods makes me want to 
Are you this negative in real life Sweeney or do you merely save it all for these forums???
On a side note I think Patty's Val hammer came after the change to turning bod's in as well.

I wasn't being negative.. I was just saying that Val hammers will be more common than they have been. They used to come from only one BoD and now they have a chance to come from 3 (or 5).
I thought Patty's came right before the changes, but I could be wrong I didn't bother checking the dates of her post and the patch notes.

Patty's hammer came by June 6th, publish 59 (with BoD changes) came on July 14th.

Even if they did make it somewhat easier and are able to get in from multiple bod orders. This was no easy task and with the limited amont of people doing BODS with hard to find traders I find it very differcult to get. I remember the days when alot of people use to trade especially on <Shadegods> Bulk Order repository which was excellent for trading. And to get these deeds especially ones that give verite or valorite once must feel lucky anytime you come across one of these deeds. I still trade Bods if anyone needs anything for the list. Hopefully we can have a trade.

Despite what Kael insinuates I know it is still difficult to get val hammers.. hence why it has taken so long for another to appear. I do BoDs so I know a bit about the frustration of getting 50 irons out of 100 turn ins. As I said it is still a major accomplishment, something I have in my list of goals.
There have been two major changes to Bods. There was a change about a year or two ago that increased the chance of getting a colored bod. I got my hammer after that change. It still took a long time! The most recent one changed the "static" reward system to more of a random one; therefore increasing the chances of getting a better reward.
Regardless of those changes, it is still a pain in the ass to get all the bods you need. However, without those changes I am not sure I, nor anyone else, would have actually gotten a val hammer.

Good point.. Pika used the blackrock turn in from what I heard, so everyone earned it the short-cut way.

To me, it just isn't worth it. I've burned 100's of charges on a val hammer and not gotten much. Congrats on it, big time, as it is a huge accomplishment. But I would do what others said: Burn it on a fast base speed weap(kryss, fork, kat) and leave a single charge.

My mistake..I thought you meant the "real" bod change aka going from one bod per 4 hours to one bod per bod you turned in.

Id wait till you cant imbue on runic made items to do anything.

You'll still end up with better pieces if you imbue first, then enhance after, which you can do now.
Enhancing first and imbuing after means that you're going to either overwrite some of the enhancing bonus, or have extra properties in there taking up intensity, depending what you're doing. Though of course, with 0% risk of destruction, unlike enhancing after.

I saw this thread and thought Sir Rickster got another hammer! It took me reading my own post to realize I was a victim of threadomancy!
I never used my hammer. I just felt the need to keep it in "one piece". It sat on display in The Port and now it is sitting safely in my bankbox. Log into test center and trying making various items with the valorite hammer. It has almost unlimited uses. That might help you make up your mind.
To be honest, I am surprised no more val hammers have appeared after the last bod change. There is a much greater chance of getting a val hammer now.

Yes Patty, Theres a better chance of getting one now, But the odds are so slim, I was lucky that I got mine from a Large BOD that produced a Verite Hammer and it gave me the upgrade. The thousands upon thousands of BODs that I got since playing this game just a handful give you those high quality chances. Plus the fact I only have 1 character that gets BODS. Yes that made it slight easier to get another bod after you hand one in but most of the time you get junk. Plus the fact hardly anyone trades bods anymore. I was fortunate recently to find trades with Laorith for tailoring and Harabec with Smithing who were great to trade with and I highly recommend them if you need trades. UO needs more people like them. The valorite runnic hammer i still believe might be the hardest item to get in UO. I dont know if I would sell it for gold, But I might be tempted to trade it for other high quality items. Chances are soon Im just gonna make my character some weapons from it. Not the 15 Bucklers suggested by Wulf2k (that was a good one Wulk lol), We shall see!! Hope to find more traders out there like back in the day.
