Pre-publish Hiryu is 4 slots... did I waste my time?

So my nice bright green Hiryu is 4 slots and I just learned they spawn as 3 slots now. Making my bright green crap when compared to one that spawned at 3 (after training). Now I only got him to 100%. I didn't click pet training options. Do they plan on changing this or do I need to tame a new green one?

Gotta ask another question... my Hiryu does not have Bushido under its magical abilities. Does this mean I am SOL when it comes to Bushido? I know I can add Nerve Strike to have it added on, but I read that he will only get the parry gains and not be able to use Bushido spells. If that's the case I would rather add Chiv. Can anyone clarify for me?

Another question actually. So I did the release and retame and then added the skills. He jumped from 3 to five slots after I added the skills/stats. So I did the release and retame again. Now he is 4 slots. However he has lost parrying. Will that come back as I raise his skills? Or am I SOL?

Parrying should come back once your wrestling gets back up there. I Have no idea on the bushido though. Might be SOL on that one.

From what I recall, hiryu tamed before pub 97 cannot train bushido

Yeah, there have been a number of bugs surrounding the pre pub hiryu.. Not sure if they fixed this, but some of them it even considered graps claw to not be a move ( much like healing on a cu , or rage on a T. wolf.) So you could add an extra move to those.. But it was super random even then.. we only ever found 2 of them like that out of 30ish other testers copied for us.. Its a pitty the lesser ones don't come in the better colors, as they bring so much more to the table.. =* [

Thanks for the responses guys. I went with Chiv/AI. He is at 4 slots currently and I am training to bolster his stats and add some regens/powerscolls.
