i am trying to reactivate a old account, got through the linking accounts pretty easily, but when it comes to billing my prepaid card, it keeps giving a error, the game did take 1 dollar from the balance but did not for some reason charge my account for subscription. the card is registered to me, my addressee etc, but still consistent errors, it has done it to me for the last few hours, anyone have any ideas on how i can give EA my money, and get access back to a old account?

use game time codes, they are better and safe than the account manager pay system :D

Sounds like you were charged a $1 transaction fee and you may not have enough money on the CC to cover what you want. EA now charges taxes.

The $1 is what is known as a "Hold" and is made to make sure you have money in the account/card. It goes away in a few days (no trace of it ever being there), or when the real charge is made, whichever comes first.

Some CC processors put as much as SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLAR holds on CC & DC fuel transactions, until they get paid, which is why many times, debit cards with less than $100 in the bank/pre-paid amount (or CC within $100 of their debt limit) won't work at some gas stations.

My pre-paid has..or HAD lol $20 on it, that's all I'll put on it since it's strictly for my UO subs.

I didn't re-sub until yesterday, was deathly afraid to, but it went through without a hitch.

$12.99 + $0.81 tax lol.

I'd check the card balance first, if that's not the issue it may be the card. Visa/Mastercard whatever, the system might not recognize it? I used a Visa.

Or get back on the live chat, call CS again. Seems some people are running into a bit of a problem with it still.

Ludes mentioned a few days ago he picked up and used Netspend cards for his kids' EA Accounts, since EA wouldn't let him use his cc info on them if the EA Accounts had his kids names on them. And I think Petra posted that she and her hubby have used prepaid cards for a while too. So it seems to be doable, but maybe some cards work better for it than others.

Perhaps try calling the card company and see what they can tell you about the transaction? It could be they think it's not a legitimate charge. About a year ago, my bank (trying to be super cautious I guess) called me for several months in a row when a couple of my EA accounts would all renew on the same day. They apparently thought it looked suspicious and wouldn't let the transactions go through without my phoned-in authorization.

the card is a 100.00 prepaid card and after the first attempt it is now 99.00 balance, plenty of money for 1 month that i choose. On top of that not working i called customer support this morning, actually got through the fella said he would credit the account with 30 days game time, the account is still not active, i guess i will wait until tomorrow to call them back and see what the new problem is, he stated it may take about a hour to reactivate.

The reason this support fella, who was in Austin while i was chit chatting with him, but anyways he said there was still bugs with the account mergers, so who knows when my account will be reactivated, i was trying to get him to put the pre paid cc on there but said he put 30 days time, no dice yet....

That can't be right...

I've been using another family member's debit card for years with no issues, including where I re-upped on the new system.

Hmmm. Well, maybe I misunderstood what Ludes said. See posts 29 and 46 in this thread: http://vboards.stratics.com/uhall/2...horized-credit-card-billings.html#post2004795. Maybe the difference was that he talked to someone on the phone about doing that and you just went ahead and did it without speaking to someone? And did the birthdate on the EA account match the card owner's birthdate?

The birthdates didn't match; hell, until I went in and changed it, the wacky Mythic system ignored my birthdate from my main two accounts, and had the birthdate of one of the previous guildmasters of THB-Lake Austin, off the third account (the homeowner account of the THB Guildhouse), an account 2 years younger RL (3 in active time) than the other two.

That person was 15 years younger than me, and the person whose card is used is 27 years older than I am.
