This is my basic setup I run on all my mages (before AoS... all my chars period.) but here goes... Imagine doing this for 18 different characters... it really makes you want to slit your wrists.

create food, icognito, polymorph, poison, para, energy field, arch cure/protect, summon blade spirit, EV, Earthquake, summon daemon, earth elm, fire elm and mass dispell all icons at bottom of screen.

I think I have all the useful spells coverd ;D

My paladin, ninja, sammy and necro spells are more simple... but this is the basic macro set up I have.

I play on a laptop... so I have no number pad. Makes for quite a packed keyboard...

I don't think theirs a single key on my entire keyboard that I don't use... somehow.

V=remove curse

T=dismount/all kill

G=all follow/remount

B=divine fury

P=equip last wep

C=trapped box

1=close wounds

2=talisman

3=orange/purple petals

4=enchanted apples

5=target self

6=disarm

7=cleanse by fire

space bar = attack selected target

then my mouse has 7 assignable macroes which are

mouse wheel forward = greater heal

mouse wheel back = greater cure

button 1= rearm main

button 2=rearm secondary

button 3= total refresh pot

button 4= grape of wrath

push mouse wheel down = talk for vent

i do have a all kill macro but its for when i get dismounted . i sick the bird on someone . not that it does much good when theres 6 people and three beetles on ya but hey atleast you gotta deal with the bird and me

I am pretty sure all you need do is copy the MACROS.TXT file in the char folder to the other char folder. and you should definatly have that folder backed up for all your char's you play.
