Now that the publish is live - thought it would be fun to post some of the legendary artifacts that are dropping. Granted most are cursed, brittle or whatever - but even the kryss below will be some fun with hunting before it goes poof. I also see some crazy stuff happening in the arena's. Yes, this kryss might only be used once and you could lose it - but so what? It might help you win a dual. Its limited use anyways....

just found a nice lesser from an eternal gazer:

Mystic Gnarled Staff or Wizardry

brittle
spell channel/faster casting -1
mage weapon: -19
mana increase 10
mana regeneration 9
magic arrows: 110

A one-handed version of this thing would go straight in my hand (tamer-mystic).

The main point is we do not need to buy anymore relic fragments until its 5k each.

On the relics i have to say that i really believed they where worth a lot until i found that if you hunt mid-level mobs with a good luck suite and enhance the better items you get literally flooded with relics (and this with a 109 imbuing gargoyle + queen's forge). So the real price should have been 5k before shame. After shame the difference is that you don't have to enhance.

lol

how are relics not worth anything?

you cant use any of this stuff but maybe one time out

they will break

be looted

you still have to be in a damn nice suit or you have no chance to survive down there.

Relic's are still very useful however their value has dropped since they are now so easy to get. Half this stuff that is 'boosted' unravels to frags. I've unraveled 100 relics in a few hours of hunting. Compare that to how long it would take in the past to find/imbue enough stuff to make 100 relics. Thats the point - frags are now commonplace. Glad I unloaded a bunch just before this pub went live.

Relic fragments are easy to get now.. this is the truth, lets face it.. don't buy it until its worth 5k each.

But if you say u got 100 relic in a couple of hours of hunting... urg... you're quite slow there hehe.

I love this system very much, because I no longer need to buy those relic fragments off those robots who can automatically fill in bods to get bronze hammers x 100000000000000000000000 and then special gem x 10000000000 automatically...

Thanks Devs for this type of system to our legit players :)

dont forget, they said you will eventualy be able to remove the brittle, cannot be repaired/cursed mods with points threw the cleanup brit program.

id love to have a mace version of that Kyrss
Who said that? I dont think that will be viable. If that is the case, all the imbue will become useless totally since you just need to farm a legendary artifacts with 10 mods and then remove those negative mods...

I doubt it will ever happen until the very end of UO, lol.

the remove curse part was from R-Travelers Spoilers
New text strings, some of them:
Item Curse Removal
These services cost Clean Up Britannia points. I can remove the following curses from this item at these prices:
These services cost Clean Up Britannia points. You cannot afford to remove any of these curses from this item at these prices:
You must remove "Cannot Be Repaired" before you can remove "Brittle".
The "Item Curse Removal" thing is not part of Publish 73. If it does end up on the slate for a future publish, it's likely to end up looking a lot different than what the text strings in here imply.

Wow, that's so sad... meaning the whole imbue system will be destroyed due to this.

But again, using clean up britannia points to remove curses... urg... looks good to me, but not fair for many people who don't have stock points though.

From the message, I intepret the following:-

-100 luck can be removed
cannot be repaired = can be removed
brittle = can be removed after "cannot be repaired" is removed

However, i think that "CURSED" cannot be removed. That's what i think.

So because relic frags will now be reasonably easy to get on your own or much lower priced from vendors, that's gonna ruin imbuing? I don't think so. So a few players with the know how and resources can no longer gouge the rest of the playerbase for exorbitant amounts of gold selling relic frags, so what. They've already made hundreds of millions. Now the rest of us can get enough relic frags to actually make high-end armor and weapons with max intensities.

I'm not crying over their loss of income.
I think he referred to the alleged ability to remove certain negatives from the items.

I replied with this dev post.

The idea that relic fragments being more-widely available will destroy Imbuing doesn't make sense to me but I don't think that's what he was talking about.

Imbuing involves a lot more than relic fragments.

The system was prototyped, and then just held back from publish. The strings were mistakenly not removed from the client patch.

Basically, we decided that the addition of the ability to remove the negatives from the new items would be too much and too soon. An item with 800 points of weighted item property intensity is one thing if it's cursed and unrepairable. It's another thing entirely if you can fortify it up and insure it.

Now, the way we prototyped it was to have the costs scale up geometrically with the item property intensity. For a seriously good item, the costs were multiple millions of Clean Up Britannia points, to completely clean the negatives off an item. Also, it would only work with items generated by the new Shame loot generator.

The way I would like to change it would be to disallow the removal of Brittle and instead have it allow the use of Clean Up Britannia points to repair its max durability. Essentially, to allow the extended use of these items, but at a relatively high recurring cost.

I'm all about the tradeoffs. Those are interesting.
I am quoting the message from Phoenix linked in Galen's post, as it cannot be stated enough. The sky is not falling.
