Possible Server Birth Candle?

I looted a tall candle from a fel idoc on Sonoma recently. It weighs 1 stone and can not be turned off. (perma-lit) the fire graphic is slightly different then those candles taken from the dungeon. Also the weight on the stealable candle is 2 stones. It seems this candle is newbiefied will not decay if left unlocked.

Anyone have any more info? or is it even a rare? thx!

I've ran into this before with short candelabras... looted 5 or 6 from an IDOC in Fel on Catskills or Chessy I think. It was an OLD keep as it had IGM blessings around and in it. The candelabras were all stuck in a single animation and none of them decayed after like.. a month on the ground outside an NPC house in Yew. They could probably still be there for all I know. I logged on for an IDOC like a month later and they were still there.

A newbiefied item would not be able to be locked down at all and would decay after 15 seconds on the ground - a change they made decades ago when hundreds of newbie players throwing items on the ground contributed to some serious lag in the dial up days.

Thanks for the info - the candle can be locked down and the only reason why I was thinking it was newb'd was because I originally forgot to lock it down and when I logged in the next morning it was still there unlocked sitting on the table I dropped it on.

Yes and I referred to that - the ones that spawn are 2 stones and can be lit and unlit. This one is 1 stone and cannot be unit.

I have a few 2 stone candles that are unusual in that they cannot be lit.
It seems likely that there are three sources of candles - server birth, daily rare, the ones that came with new characters early in the game that used to turn into tall candles when double clicked - most of these would be Newbiefied, but depending on the timing of the conversion may still be able to be locked down and not decay.
