For the last few days, the front doors of the castle have opened & closed on there own. Before u ask yes I

1 detected hidden & NOTHING
2Tracked for all 4, animals, monsters, human npcs & Players, NOTHING

is there a bug & is there anyway to fix it cuz its really really annoying

I don't know if you meant you used detect hidden inside, but maybe there's someone hidden right outside your castle, but within reach of those doors?

I used it inside & outside & walked all around...

but even still , if i didnt detect them shouldnt I have picked em up on tracking? im GM on both

In trammel, you can't reveal blues.
Not to mention that Tracking and Detect have success based on an "opposed roll". So, unless you have points invested in those skills, you're more likely to fail.

Detect hidden inside your home is 100% success for the purpose of Stealther removal.

She is GM tracking so she shouldn't fail, right?

We had something similar happen lastnight but I thought my sis was doing it with her repeat last action macro. LMAO Which caused me to yell at her : "Stop with the freakin doors already!!" Now I'm wondering....

I think I would try setting the house to private and then public, maybe. If the doors got 'stuck', maybe this would clear them.

Not sure if this would mess anything up for you or not, as far as vendors or deco, etc.

I tried makin it pub then back to priv, & no it didnt mess up the access or friend list
I tried telekenisis on the doors
detected in house & all around
walked all over the place
tracked
all came up with nothing
I thougth yesterday it might have been soem one playina prank... but for hours? & 2 days? & cleared access & friend list & still happening

How often is it happening? (rarely, every few minutes, every few seconds?)

Do other people see the doors opening and closing? (wondering if its a server-side quirk vs client-side quirk)

Have you checked the security settings on the doors?

It might be that the doors are free to be used by "anyone."

other ppl cn it , so im not losing my mind

& soon as the door closes, it opens (yesterday it was just the right door, today both)

Then, there's still a chance of failure. Although it'd likely be in the region of 50%, give or take.
Likely culprit's some manner of use last macro.
Or, you got unlucky with the tracking.

Not so.
It's an opposed roll between Tracking/Detect and Hide/Stealth, with a little added fluff.
I wish it was guaranteed

I KNOW! I want haunted doors as a building option! Well i guess it'd be annoying if your house was public.

Do you have a last idem/ last target key set? Mine is the shift key, so if I open my door and I have not opened anything else before I talk or type anything using the shift key the door will open and close by its self. Freaked me out at my Fel keep until I realized what was happening.

Yes, try what Viper said. If it's not a hidden prankster, I suspect it's due to your door attempting to close or open just before one of the server maintenance save.

So when server comes up, the first thing the doors want to do is to finish opening/closing, mesing up the open and close state. If I am guessing correctly, the doors don't constantly open/close every sec. They should only move if you wait around apprx 10 secs (the normal time it takes doors to automatically close). Then bounce back.

If it's a custom house, you can delete and readd the doors, but for castles, try Viper's methods. Also remove any lockdowns on the 8 tiles around the door. Including the floors above. Ohh, also remove any npcs, vendors, heralds in those 9 tiles.

Failing that, best bet is wait for a GM to come fix it.

changed from private to pub then back to private
its in fel
nothing on track

nothin from a red doing fields

so yah still at a loss as to what it is & ive search the dang help section for ea, found NOTHING remotely liek it

so guess we r stuck with a fel castle with possessed doors that ur not safe standing in pft

When the castle is set to Private, and the doors open on their own, can players that aren't on the friends list come inside? Or are they stopped at the front steps?

If they can come inside regardless of the Public/Private designation, then that's not good.

EDIT: Forgot to add you might want to PM or email Spada about this. Might be something he could make sure to call attention too, or at least know who could help you! I would also try contacting Chrissay and Joanne, too.

While you're waiting for some assistance from that direction, you could always try paging the GMs again. I've read that sometimes the key is paging multiple times so that one of the more helpful GMs might get it.

Maybe a UHaller that seems to have good luck with the GMs could help here. Might be a certain way to word your request to get better chances of a response other than a totally non-related canned message and link.

Last recourse is to get a GM to help you out. Definitely better than moving your stuff out and doing a "resize" to replace the castle.

Wow, how long has that been in game?? Ive been playing for many years now, and never knew of that.

As for the door problem, I had the same issue. I just emptied the place, and replaced it. Happened to my castle for almost 2 months before i did that

sorry to revive this, but the mystery is solved

when we removed the char vet reward statues the doors, stopped being possessed. & when replaced, yup u guessed it, they got repossessed

so the cause : char vet reward statues on steps of castle
cure : remove them

go figure
