Portable Soulforge?

Is this actually an intended item or from an exploit? He was selling a bunch of SA champion spawn items, so not sure if its a drop or not. Someone selling one and it looks like a miniature soulforge in the trade window.

Gotcha! He was selling it as a portable one.

So its simply a small miniature decorative one and not actually able to be used?

I see a floor switch on that vendor, can anyone point me to further information about it?

Thanks everyone. Hopefully this gets the word out there to folks so nobody thinks its really a portable one. I couldn't fathom them putting a working portable one in, so wanted to ask on it.

and thusly we prove, if something appears to be too good to be true...

and let the buyer beware. Thanks Devs for the heads up. It is truly lovely looking though.

And thanks to Frarc for the link.

Fink, if your asking about the purple lever it is a environmental spawn from the new lich spawn, I got a orange one from summoning the spawn, ran around and there were two Orange levers sitting there, the one is a dup. and can be picked up.

Oh I didn't buy it because as I said I couldn't fathom them putting it in... but stranger things have happened. *grins* I've seen all sorts of 'portable' items like forges which are illegal over the years I've played, so wasn't sure if it was a new deco graphic or an exploit.

Thanks Devs! It -is- cute!

I realize this guys just trying to sham some poor sucker, but even at 80 mill, there should be a fine for price gouging......even false advertising.....

you know what would be a sweet skill?? Lawyer!!! :hahaha:

I WANT ONE! I BID 100,000,000,000!!

PFFFFT! at 80 Mil, and even if it was a full functioning soul forge, would it be worth that much gold? Not to me.

I hope that vendor sucks his bank account dry.

Now that would be an awesome GM response to false in game advertising: pulling someone's vendor with the overpriced item into green acres for a week to "look into things".

I would like to think that before anyone spent 80 mil on ANYTHING, they would look into it first. I know I would google the heck out of it until I found out if it was an exploit or the real deal and what it was actually worth. I do wish whoever owned that vendor would, at least, get a 3 day ban. They did it for folks selling the "server birth" crap recently. Why not do it to these morons?

That's a bit much. At what point in the pricing of an item on a vendor is it "overpriced" or a "scam?" I don't want GM's policing vendor pricing.

Ummm if you follow the link above you will notice that it was EA who posted the pic???? They realize it and post it. They were the ones banning over the server birth stuff (as they should have) Were they not??? How is this any different? I am not saying to police the price, I am saying to police the scam! It is NOT a bit much when someone is telling you that you can transport this item and actually use it. But then again I also stated that people should research this stuff before they buy it.

Yeah people should research, but a lot of people who play this game casually don't have the time or inclination to "research" before they play. Of course those people usually don't have 80 mill to blow. :p

I don't think GMs should police scam vendors either, but I think it would be hilarious if they did, and gave scam vendors time outs in green acres for a few days. That might curb the impulse some people get to try to dupe others out of their gold. ;)

Its only decorative, it don't do anything.

That appears to be the middle section of the regular soulforge. If you were to break up a regular soulforge leaving only that middle 'orb' section, that soulforge would not function either.

The functioning pieces of a soulforge are both of the two-piece/tile anvils. Making 4 functioning tiles of the 16 that comprise the full soul forge graphic.

Yes, I did follow the link and I do know who posted the pic. Are you now asking them to look at the pricing of every item on every vendor on every shard to determine who is scamming and who is over-charging? How are you proposing to "police the scam?" I don't see how this can be done effectively or fairly. I'm glad they posted this scam, but you can't really expect EA/Mythic to catch every scam, do you? It's simply not possible.

Ummm do what they did last time and have people report it???
And Sarsmi...Green Acres is an excellent idea! Or a dark jail cell.

I'm sure someone reported this (although EA does have the ability to search for any item on any shard). But can you imagine how much time that could take? And imagine how it could be abused. I'm just saying that it's an impossible task, and in MOST cases EA shouldn't determine vendor pricing. If that happens, and if we start to expect EA to catch every scam, people will start complaining about "scams" that were missed. I'm glad they notified us of this scam, but don't try to make it their responsibility to do this every time.
