you want the thinly spaced poppies (each poppy will produce 8, 8 charge poppie dust - so a total of 64 charges) - so hiryus, terrethon warriors, or wisps - wisps can be good if you have a char that can kill them since they don't attack till attacked - I go for the terrethon warriors (there is a small cave east from the spirituality moongate in Ilsh) since they are relatively easy to kill

The ones with 0 charges are good for deco, but nothing else. I usually sell them for around 2k - anything more than that is a ripoff.

If I remember right, a charge used on a peculiar seed identifies the plant that can be grown from the seed. (or something close to that)

If a seed isn't clearly identified as to what it will grow into... ie a seed says "A blue seed" instead of "A blue tri-barrel cactus seed" you can use Poppy Dust to ID it...
There are a couple things to be aware of, however...
Plain seeds are bugged right now...
If you use Poppy Dust on "A Plain Seed" it will still say "A Plain Seed"... and you think it didn't work. However, aparently, if you plant the seed in a bowl of soft dirt, then dump the bowl to recover the seed, it will come back ID'd. This is too much trouble for me so I just don't use Poppy Dust on plain seeds right now.
If you use Poppy Dust on a seed that is "Fully Identified", I believe it was using a charge and giving you no more info, because you already had all the info anyway. I'm not positive and don't know if this was fixed. Just be carefull not to waste your Poppy Dust if the seed is already ID'd.
All "Fragrant Seeds" are always Cocoa Plants. There's never a need to ID a fragrant seed because that never changes. It will always be a Cocoa plant.

This is still the case; it hasn't been fixed.
No, every poppyes produce 8 dust, but every dust has 10 charges.
I just used kittykat's poppy dust with 8 charges. Each charge only identified one seed. Thus only 8 seeds were ID. It did not have ten charges. It is as Kittykat explained earlier: each wide spaced poppy from wisps, terrethan warriors, Hiyrus will grow 8 seeds and 8 poppy dust. The 8 poppy dusts each have 8 charges = 64 charges total from one wide spaced type poppy plant.

Incorrect, 8 seeds, 8 charges, 64 possible IDs per plant.

Cocoa trees cannot be bred, and therefore there is no way to create mutants.
the naturalists quests gives u a chance to get black or white seeds of hte new plants.. but its ramdom ( find all FIVE of the nests) but that would be the only way i can c to get a white coco tree
