this shard of the dead is fun as hell. they need to implement this on the rest of their shards in some way.
If it was made permanent I might be tempted to play it. I have a very limited time to play so I don't want to spend my play time on a tempory shard, and I have a feeling a lot of people might feel this way.
I agree. I would really like for this shard to be a permanent one. The crew who made this shard are extremely intelligent and can come up with a different shard, if need be, for special occasions.

I felt like that too! seems like such a waste, and not like you can bring anything back from there to your home shard either. I wasn't going to go at all, and after getting there and finding Fel rules, like 'push-thru', i wasn't going to stay there either, it was frustrating at first.
it's Not a TC, and get used to dieing a lot too.
So I left pretty quick, after 2-3 hrs (dinner was done)
It's really a cute mini-game, not really any losers or winners for the most part. Go, fight, kill, the struggle to stay alive, you won't be sleeping! - a good departure from the norm.
And you get to see first hand, and use, much of the new armor/weap mods that are coming
Yep, it would be really fun also, if in the future, they continue to add the new items to the Shard of the Dead, lol... just a thought.
But, yeah, I wasn't going to stay either and when I noticed I couldn't walk through anyone I thought NO WAY am I going to stay here, but then I thought I needed to try to find something to wear, then one thing lead to another and now I love it. I am what most of you call a "Trammie". I rarely, if ever, went to Fel, but now I will be more comfortable with going to Fel after being on Shard of the Dead.
Right now I'm working on enough bless deeds to bless my suit so I can try to stay alive after going through the gate, lol.

I agree. I've already remade the template of one of my primary characters based on what I created on the shard of the dead.

glad to hear this event is inspiring pvp from some of the non-pvpers. check out the arena shard if you guys haven't. it may help tone your skills and you can test your templates.
This shard as permanent would make it less special. What I think they should do is maybe only put it up around holidays only, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc. Maybe adding a bit of a twist or something new each time. Nothing extreme or anything since we know they do this on their own free time.

i definitely think the system would be cool to incorporate into some sort of Fel aspect on regular shards...it's sort of like...well, for example, these killable basses. basically, it's like MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) play. maybe something factions could have?
I'd like to see this live on throughout the year with two stipulations:
The MOB types rotated (perhaps monthly), i.e. - Humanoids in January; Giant Bugs in February; Red (Brigands/Evil Wizards/Priests of Mondain) Humans in March; Elementals in April; etc.
Participation Points: Rewards (something minor) for points, stuff like original pieces of furniture or trophies or whatever. You get points based on how long you play, or kills or something and you could use those points to buy some interesting, but non-game-changing items as proof of the deed! Either this or a new title of some sort (something like Shard Lord or something).

McRibs are an offense to the palate.
Thing to remember about this though. The Shard of the Dead is done on a couple of devs personal time. They made it on non-paid free time. With no QA or any of the support that the production shards normally get. To make this a permanent thing would be further diluting our already stretched dev team.

Just kidding, I forgot about that aspect.... It's a shame that something so (seemingly) popular with the players was done as a side thing for free....I wonder if they would be willing to have it added to the game as a paid add on, maybe $5.99 per account or something.

I really am serious about paying for that shard though. If they could put it into production, I bet many would pay a one time charge for access. 5.99 a head is definitely reasonable. It would also count as a mini update!
