hi ppl,

returning player and in need of help for my char. THis is lily a tamer. What i want to do is this template.

120 Animal Taming
120 Animal Lore
120 Veterinary
120 Spellweaving
100 Meditation (110 with Spell Woven Britches)
120 Magery

Gear:
Hat of Magi, Midnight Bracers, Spell Woven Britches, Pendant of Magi, Stitcher Mittens, RuneBeetle Carapace, Totem of the Void, Ring/Bracer with 12 SDI and LRC 20, Slayer SpellBook and Chaos Shield Museum Reward.

(Trade RuneBeetle Carapace for Armor of Fortune if you cant find the Ring/Bracer)

Gear Mods:
LRC- 100
LMC- 35 (so a 5 LMC on the ring/bracer would be perfect)
SDI- 59+Slayer
MR- 10

Tactic:
Level 6 SpellWeaving focus.
Macro Essence of Wind because you will use it alot.
... spawn.

how is this for a template in todays uo world? Also if there is better gear please let me know. I currently use my g dragons.

THis is for Pve mostly

Personally, I prefer to only carry 110 tame/lore, GM Vet, 120 Magery, Eval, SW and 110 Med. Granted to get that you need a decent imbued Bracelet and a VERY nice 3 Mod Scrappers.

Also would look into trying to get Protector of the Battle Mage, Crystalline ring and Kelp Legs instead of Spell Woven Britches in there if you can.

What you are doing above would definately be good to go tho.

If you plan to do some high end mob i suggest you to go down the mystic-tamer way.

120 taming
120 animal lore
120 veterinary
120 focus
120 mysticsm
100 magery

the rest in meditation.

The reason is that most of the high end mobs are designed as anti-tamer encounters (either because of constant area damage or for critical hits or mass ganking): slasher, stygian dragon, scalis, minions of scelestus, night terrors, all the champ spawn bosses (but barracoon) and so on.

With the rising colossus you can solo some of them and actively partecipate in group fights.

Tbh in 99.9% of the cases you end up not needing the pet at all (you can take a full round of Doom just with the Rising Colossus: there are tons of reasons why it is just better than a greater dragon) but don't ask for some love or they will shoot you.

In some way I agree with you. But taking your thoughts further I don't understand why you add taming skills to a mystic mage. You could add meditation, resist and some other spells if you rely on your rising colossus anyway. You won't be able to heal your colossus with bandages, will you. :stretcher: I guess you will be doing just fine, but I'd rather have a colossus or a greater dragon, not both on one character.
