Huh? How do you loose something in UO? Did they add wrenches and screwdrivers? I haven't been following the new stuff but if I'm interpreting your post properly, you are worried that you might lose the 30 SDI bonus if you only have GM chivalry, am I right?

im wondering if i am interpreting the latest pub correctly in assuming that having chivalry would nullify my 30 sdi bonus of SS and necro

not really lose, it's more of the SDI cap is higher if you DONT have chiv also, without it's the old 15% cap. But yes, if you get both necro and chiv your SDI cap will be the old one, you don't get thew new bonus. (this is pvp only of course, there is not and never has been a SDI cap in pvm)

If you are talking about this
Focus Skill Spec (PVP)

Increase of spell damage increase cap from 15% to 30% (Reduced from TC 40%) for templates that focus in only one spell school. Focused players, having no more than 30.0 modified skill points in another main skill set will be able to benefit from the raised cap.Main skills include: Magery, Necromancy, Mysticism, Ninjitsu, Bushido, Animal Taming, Musicianship, Chivary, Spellweaving. Secondary skills also count towards focus spec such as: Focus, Spirit Speak, Imbuing, and Evaluate Intelligence.

having chiv over 30 will negate the increase bonus
