I am trying to find a way to get Black Seeds . By cross Pollen, I can do all the white seeds ,But no black seeds is there a certain color I should use for black seed or is this by luck only. thx.

do the `naturalist` quest ,,, after you examine the 4 nests,,take a green thorn and plant it in sand,,,a hole opens up leading to the 5th and hidden nest
upon returning to the npc that gives the quest youll get a black,white, or fire seed.
