Pets Dissapearing after Relogging on from server down .

This should be in the bug area

I want to let people know there is a massive bug out ..

This affects tamers or anyone training pets or unstabled pets at the time of server down .

This has happened to my 4 to 5 times now and iam sick of it ...
Someone needs to answer why this is happening .. and why the game is not doing it correct role when saving on server down .

Issue ... When training around server time and server goes down .. your char is in a safe area but you don't make it to the stable your pets before server down .. and your pets are out when the server goes down . the next time you relog in and your "alive" not in a area that could have killed your pets and now you have no followers .

WTF is going on here . where is my pets ... this has happened now with 3 grater dragons .. there goes 48 hours of training 12+ hours on every pet ...

this last time i was traiining my mare and a drad horse in tram . i got the server message and connection was lost .. i log in 2 days later and yet once again my pets are gone ..

i mean wtf is going on here ???? i send a help request to the gms . and i get a crap message that were sorry gms cant help your recover lost items ...

WEll Wtf is lost ... the damn server is eating peoples pets .. and it seem now that noone is posting about this ...

This has been going on now for well over 3 weeks ...
or longer that i have noticed .. but i sucked it up and thought the first time or so i did something wrong .. but now 5 pets eaten by server down .. I mean come on ...

Where is QA , Who test this crap .... If someone cant test publishes or bugs ... Why the hell are people publishing this crap .... FIX it Test it QA it ... retest it ... Check for bug reports And for god sakes ... get some real customer support instead of a gm's canned auto responce message ...

What shard your on .. what time did was it and what you lost ..

Cats shard 3 grater dragons . 2 drad horse and 1 mare that was over a year old fully trained .. every time it was on server down .. then relog on and pets are gone ..

I was in painted caves training .last week . While i was training a grater dragon it was bonded " went out side to rez I rezed and out of instinct i click my ethy . and i mounted on my ethy .. I get back to painted caves and my dragon is inside still fighting spawn . and it shows 1 follower . I unmount and call for my dragon it ignores me . and i show 0 followers .. I give commands to the dragon its Blue and still allowing me to change it name give commands ... but will not follow me ... I then refeed it again and now i see my followers is now back at 5 ... and the dragon follows me out ..


I hope this gets fixed or someone post something about it to warn others .

Sorry, I do not play at the time cats goes down anymore. It used to be about 5:15 (est). I would ALWAYS log 45 mins early, ie 4:30. If I didn't I was sure to strike gold and have it taken away! Sorry to say that I am on my way to work at 5 AM now. *sighs* I hate mornings.

Guess what Im saying is your waiting to long to log. Not that I agree with it, but things rubberband at severdown.

no offence.... but if you noticed it 4 previous times, and server goes down at roughly the same time every day, why would you continue for the 5th time?

I mean i am not up at the time the server goes down, but lets say its 4am. Why cant you stop training at 4am? Bug or not.

keep doing it... maybe after your Nth dragon the servers hunger will be satisfied and we will then be able to train our pets 24/7...

Try training dogs, cats and wolves too... maybe the server will eat them... one can only wish.

There is no bug.

The server stops saving at around the 2 minute warning mark. If you had logged back in at server up and gone back to where you were prior to the warning you would very probably have found your pets there.

when the server goes down there is always a tiny revert when it comes back up, to the last save point. If you were in game and dismounted from the pet at that point the pet will re-appear wherever you were. Of course although you were with it at that save point, you no longer are.
The onus is on you to make sure you and your pets are safe at the appropriate time, not stay in game till the server disappears from under you.

It's just weird how this never was a issue , untill about a month ago ... never had a problem with it ... So why now is it not auto logging out peoples pets ...

I totaly understand how pets use to auto save at server down ... but iam telling you there is a issue now ... So before you go saying theres no bug ... Test it .

Well i guess training at the Tram Delucia Stable is now a unsafe area to train ... its pretty bad if your in guards zone and you relog in and your pets dont ..



to bad this dosen't happen to db4 members auto logging thier pets out after sitting in thier house in fel yew right before the draggon dies . "some things just suck"

It is NO BUG the system is designed this way so that unattended trainers lose their unattended work!
The thought is simple...if you are attended you can't miss the server down warning. Since you are in a guard zone it should be very easy to get to a stable during the warning time.

If you don't train unattended near server down and you won't have a problem!

You missed this message 5 times while training attended??? Hmmmmm perhaps you need new glasses.

Actualy i seen the messages ... But since when was this publish anounced ???

I have never seemed this posted on any update ... and i read every one ...

its always nice to let players know whats going on seeing how we pay but always get a crap message we cant help you ... from gm's
and not everyone comes to stratics to read about UO .... seems if they are changing the game from the way it was working it should be posted some place can you referr me to where this was posted ?????


so if iam hunting anywhere in the game and server goes down now i automaticly lose my pets ..
And now did anyone think is most late night pvpers do server down wars ???? SO now if they want to play without taking counts we lose our pets ..> Great Job ...... Great thinking ...

Once again scripters / unattended macroers screw over real players that dont cheat ... No Wonder this games getting more like **** .... 10+ year Payer of 4 accounts ... maybe this is long enough ...


& P.S just cause you have a MOD title dosen't mean your always right ... Timber When pets are fighting and your using bands on them you some times wont get to actualy see a server message ....

Oh i am right about what I have said....maybe not necessarily about all the "stuff" you have implied.

First...EA has never made it a point to tell people prior to changing rules designed to thwart unattended players....DO they tell dupers before they take their stuff?

5 times??? Come on man who ya foolin? You read the message 5 times...lost pets 5 times....after the second night this happened most people would modify their attended gameplay...

I guess you were just slow to catch on.....so here is some honest help.

Don't depend on autolog period.....server time or not! Don't auto log to try to save your pets from death... or counts...or to save yourself from insurance costs...

Now about server down..
Why do you think they post the msg that says find a safe place and log out?? You think they are joking?? Being dead....having pets out...etc at server down can have nasty results if they have to or plan to clear the buffers. That is after all what server down is for....
Next time it says find a safe place and log out....maybe stable your pet, and log out....Since you are always attended, you lose less than 5 mins of game play, and save your pets and items!

Why complain when the system works how it is suppose to and how it is posted to work! Read the warning....and obey!
