(Question) Pet Training Questions

Had a quick read over the pet training but couldn't find anything about what the cap is on training points you can spend on a pet in total, is there a cap?

Also are dread warhorses still good?
Training them up to 5 slots doesn't seem to be any different than having a nightmare trained up to 5 slots or do some pets still have higher base stats?

Is there considered a best overall pet now? I would think rideable is important if you train up to 5 control slots and if in essence all the high end pets can be trained to the same level?

Can you change the pets abilities/specials/number of slots once they are trained or are you stuck with the abilities/specials/number of slots for good?

Any links to collated data or more in depth data than uo guide would be most appreciated !

Thanks :)

Per slot upgrade you get 1501 points. It works pretty much like imbuing. Resists in total can not be more that 365. You can not undo spent points or skills chosen and you need to add them in a certain order or you lose some choices.

You better read up on that in the tamer forum. Lots of guides there.

Thank you some more useful info there, seems my legacy mare and white wyrm could be the real treasures more so than the dread war horse.

hey Revvo. Are you making a comeback?

haven't seen good builds for dread mares yet.

there are a couple of pets that make the most sense: lesser hiryus, giant beetles, fire beetles, cu sidhes (all ridable). Sometimes nightmares, fire steeds and 100% elemental crimson drakes make sense too depending on the situation.

After a pet is trained to 5 slots and you have given it all the abilities, special moves etc you want you can not change it anymore. So before you ruin any good pets go to test center and train up pets there to get a better understanding of how this works. Also the taming forum on stratics has a lot of good info about this.

Just having a play around with the new EJ coming, the pet training is interesting but yeah all the advice is to play around before ruining any good legacy pets i have a few pets bonding for this. Thanks for the info.
