Pet Revamps

They seriously need to revamp some of the pet's and at least make them useful in some situations. Like the Reptalon and Skree for example.

The Reptalon was supposed to be the Human equivalent to the Elves' Cu Sidhe, and they were indeed pretty scary in ML Beta when they could Nerve Strike, which got nerfed to Paralyzing Blow. As is, you almost never see a Tamer with a Reptalon, due to the fact that Cu Sidhes are superior to them in every way, besides the fact that Reptalons can go above 100.0 in Wrest, to a max of 108.0. They need to give Reptalons the constant Life Leech ability that Vampire Bats have in order to give them self healing on par with a Cu Sidhe's, and maybe even give them the Necromancy skill/spells (Besides Blood Oath and Summons). Their' special move, Paralyzing Blow, is even more useless now than ever, now that they've added diminishing returns to the Paralyzing Blow special move. I will literally see my Reptalon use Paralyzing Blow 3-4 times within 10-15 secs, and most of the time it doesn't even work because of diminishing returns. Even when it does work, it just breaks immediately upon their next attack.

Skrees are interesting creatures, being that they're the only tameable creature in game that can use Mysticism (And tend to spam Sleep), but the fact is, that they're melee damage is pathetic, they're rather frail, they take 4 control slots, and they just don't have enough Mana/Mana Regeneration to take full advantage of their Magery/Mysticism. I've taken the time to fully train a good Stat/Resist Skree, and i'm honestly not very impressed. They just don't warrant the 4 control slots. Maybe if they had the mana dumping AI of Rune Beetles, along with vast amounts of Mana and/or Mana Regeneration they'd be worth it, but as is, they're not. It'd be pretty neat to have a "pure spellcaster" pet that lacked in melee damage, but made up for it with pure arcane might, but for reasons i've already stated, the Skree just isn't it.

Firesteeds need to have their Firebreath removed. That crap is just plain a damage loss. They do alot more damage with their kicks than their breath, and they waste about 2 kicks worth of time breathing out a crappy 20-30 damage fireball. Leave them alone otherwise, they still have the highest damage potential of any pet in game when paired (So long as their victim isn't highly resistant to Fire). They're glass cannons, have someone else with something tough like a Greater Dragon be a meat shield for them, and they'll dish out the pain.

They also need to make ALL of a pet's "hidden" skills visible in the Animal Lore window. So damn annoying not exactly knowing what your pet's Focus skill is at, or what your Skree's Mysticism is at.

I don't deny there are a few tames out there that make me wonder what in the world were they thinking. The first being skree as they don't warrant anything close to the 4 slots they take. The iron beetle being the second one which I am quite baffled by but not nearly to the degree of the skree.

Personally I just wish they would change the graphic of the Greater Dragon to something that is Greater than a dragon...

I haven't touched a Reptalon due to Cu Sidhe's being something better so I agree there. I don't think giving them the same abilities would be the way I would want it to go. Give them something else to make them worth the cu sidhe. Give them Frenzy so that every so often they go into a beserker mode that gives a nice damage burst. Give them infected bleeds or something different. Infected bleeds could mean slower attacks speed by the infected.

Trained Iron Beetles are actually the most powerful pet a non-tamer can own. I've fully trained 3 high stat/resist ones for my Chiv Warriors, and they can meatshield a lot of crap for me, like Ogre Lords, while dealing some decent damage. They can even go above GM Resist when trained. Only thing i can think of that could be more powerful for a non-tamer, is a trained live Vollem from a crystal.

I suggested Vampiric life leeching for them because not only would it allow them to self heal, but it also fits with their appearance (At least their 2D appearance, in EC they look like Puff the Magic Dragon). Look at them, they look like gargantuan bats. They even have large, visible fangs and bat like wings. Giving them Necromancy would also fit with their appearance, and it'd be pretty neat to finally have a pet capable of casting Necromancy spells. Not Animation or Wither mind you, but stuff like Strangle, Poison Strike, Pain Spike, Corpse Skin (Which would increase their melee damage, since 25% of it is Poison), Mind Rot, Evil Omen and maybe even Blood Oath.
