Here are his resists and damage:
upload_2019-3-30_11-37-37.png

The one Mob in the game with ???? HP that does cold damage plus as an added bonus he does poison. There is no one resist that is the highest, the one we killed this week was highest in Physical.

He can not be poisoned with magery. Anyone know if a Rune Beetle or Naj or Bane can poison him?

Since he is going to get a loot upgrade, we may want to fight him more.

We just went there this week on a community hunt. He hits very hard, so you need the poison and cold resists.

So, you could make a single mob Cu with AI/Chiv or use a balanced resist.

Has anybody found a pet or build that works with him.

I was thinking of making a garden slug specifically for him.

I was almost late to the hunt so I took my White Cu I was bank sitting on (45 poison). When he was aggroed he took a lot of damage so I had to run up and mount him twice. Wasn't a fast loss of HP but fighting Corgul keeps you busy.

Thanks

I've never been to him. Can you discord him? I'm guessing not. Crazy high resists across the board.

I'm thinking maybe a rune beetle with RC would be good against him, load it up with cold/poison resist. RC benefits everyone's damage.

Or get a Naja and build it specifically for Corgul, give it high cold resist and armor ignore. Already has 100% poison resist so that's 40% less damage right there.

Agree. Looking at resist/damage table, possibly two beetles (Blue for the haul of junk) with constant RC on him and if possible feint (not sure if they get feint but if so that may be good for tankiness), and /or AI, with steady consume, then several Najas with high poison resist, Fzz/AI. The Fzz will tend to clear some of the intermediate spawn also that is all over the place there. Have no idea about discoing him. I tried in past with no success though. Lots of dead players all over, keep a rezzer safe we did, all 6-7 of us guildies.
Pretty tough encounter. Also he has corrupted life so sampires are ineffective if I recall.

He can be discoed.
I use a giant beetle with rune corruption there, but he only serves as backup while my macer whacks Corgul dead.

Unless you are one of the few that can kill him with a small group, You should bring a beetle and a Bard.

I dont think I could handle 2 toons there. He pulls you in every 3 seconds. And you cant hide behind the rocks to avoid it. Also my bandage nearest follow macro stopped working, I could have vetted my cu at the pull ins.

Discord works on him (Repond Slayer). Consume Damage is nearly useless against him, since he only does 10% Physical Damage. You're better off casting G-Heals rather than using Consume. The AI Naja would be a good pet to tank him with, due to the 100% Poison Resist, as well as complete immunity to Corgul's debuff spells at 170+ Resist skill. A Fire Beetle with RC+AI helps immensely.

Maybe Discord him, then have a group of beetles on him.
"Group of beetles" ends up being a waste especially if they are RC/AI.

Khyro and I duo this effortlessly with two of our tamers, one a necro tamer, the other a spellweaver. We don't have any special pets just for Corgul, we use the same general resist spread we use on every other encounter in game (with very few exceptions like Exodus).

Fire Beetle with RC or Rune Beetle with Discord if you don't use/have a Bard with you.
Fire steed with Chiv (or fire damage elemental drake would work)

Corgul starts something like this:

Discord and Corpse Skin and he begins to look like this:

Toss in the RC debuff and he looks like this:

If you have a 4x120 bard with peace songs, it will help with the damage taken by the whole group.

If your pet is taking too much damage, you can try consume. while it won't "consume" much damage, it will give some hit point regen. There is also the humility buff you can use. Remember they all stack.

The spellweaver can use the Gift of Renewal if needed also. Use the tools available to you, if you need them.

This is an encounter you can vet in, if you get aggro, just invis or cross invis people who need it. Cross heal, it does wonders.

Don't fight the pulls.

When doing encounters think of how abilities, specs, pets and buffs can synergize.

I've never had a problem with corgul my group of like 4-5 player did 5 corguls back to back a few months ago and minimum deads in the group don't believe I died at all. My tamer is a peace bard vet so I literally just peace masteried and vets my rune corruption poisoning frost mite who did poison him sometimes. When u stand close the nova thing he does doesn't do much if any damage to u and when he pulls u in it doesn't matter because u were already there anyway. I also went with my phoenix with mage mastery, inferno, explosive goo. Explosive goo helps with the spawn before him then inferno lowers fire resist the phoenix does 50% fire damage and with mage mastery uses a lot of flamestrikes and explosions. He can also use death ray from time to time. We were talking about doing him more often cause it seemed everytime we killed him most people in the group got at least a pinkie or 2 and there were usually 2-3 arties gotten throughout the grp so it seemed like a pretty decent pay out for not much effort. We even had a corgul where there was no spawn on the island so we got straight into the fight.

So the Naja with AI/Melee poison/VB is ok or just AI, and how about Naja with Poison melee/AI/VB/Fww?? Ty..

Thanks all.

For a random group:

Sounds like the best strategy is to knock down the resists and then do any damage you can.

For a dedicated team:

Use very specific builds. And use pets and abilities or magic that can lower the resists more and fire him up.

Toon deaths are not a big concern. He doesn't follow the pull in with a death ability like Zippy can. It's more like the Lich pull in.

For those that have never done this. Getting to the island will be time consuming especially if you get the ocean spawn. It damages the ship.

So, get out there and practice.

Remember to do it in Fel with a protector too.
Once I managed to walk out with 22 pinks out of there thanks to that.

Najasaurus with just Poisoning+AI. Poison+AI+PB+FWW is way too many abilities to use any one of them effectively.

Do you get White PS in Fel there also?
No.
Corgul is only the pink ATM machine.
To get powerscrolls, your only option is to do fel champ spawns.
There are quite a few lost land ones that aren't check often, so more often than not you can do those in peace and get 12 power scrolls safely home.

Went to Corgul tonight for Community Hunt. Had my Triton build for Corgul.

The posts above tell you what type of group will be most effective. You can shorten the fight by reducing his resists.

Our Group that showed up:
Six of us went. Three took Cus. 1 multi magic player and one fresh returned Mage.

The sail to the island had no spawn. Fought off the Pirates with no problems.

After killing the Pirates you can start killing Corgul. He has a ton of HP and all resists are above 80. Basically you just stand there and fight for a long time.

Our group was not the best setup for this encounter but we all had fun. Ill just place some tips, tamer specific.

1. Pull up the bars on your team. Someone will need healed often.
2. Don't run consume. He does only 10% Phy damage.
3. Dont try to stay back from him. He randomly pulls you in when damage is done from you, pet, summons.
He does not aggro on you at each pull in. You can just stay there and watch your health.
4. When you are pulled in, use this time to bandage or heal your pet. Bandages are most effective.
5. Have a Dispel ready to use. The Revenants will kill players.
6. Keep your pet at 3/4 health or above. Corgul will do steady damage to a target and for a period he does some extra damage its not often but be ready for it. Pets will lose HP fast and if he is on a player the player will need heals fast. (prob Necro spells)
7. Stay alert. Sometimes not much is going on, be ready when something happens.

It is frustrating when you have a lot of SDI but your Flamestrikes do 27 damage. I gave up on that and just kept others alive and kept my pet on him and at high HP.

We had 1 Cu Die and 2 players. So we did well.

Here are the pics: Somehow they got put in reverse order sorry.

This encounter is going to get a Revamp soon. IMO the only thing that should change is that they add some new pack drops. You get about 5 Legendary items.
If anyone has ideas that will make the encounter more fun, make sure you give feedback when the time comes.

Since this is part of the Year Long High Seas Adventure:
Coasting into Fall we find ourselves confronting Forsaken Foes – a new take on Corgul & Charybdis!
Begins in September so testing will start when the T Hunting part is live and they are done with the SoS changes.
I am going to stay in the High Seas Theme so I will be taking my Triton I designed for the damage Corgul does. He passed his test tonight. He didn't die, I got a drop, we had fun.

We did a lot better than I did with the attempt I started the thread with.
But one poster says this about him:
I hope no one copies this build with the intention of doing corgul.
So copy at your own risk.

Here are some stats on this Corgul:

So, go out and practice and get ready for some new fun in September!

Still makes me cry everytime i see it~ So many other wonderful pets.

Basically you just stand there and fight for a long time.
How long did it take three cu and an enegy debuffing triton to kill corgul?

So copy at your own risk.
Any evenish resist spread pet should be able to do corgul without a problem (and be used anywhere else in the game), I dont think the encounter itself is hard enough or has mechanics that warrant a special pet like Exodus, of course I acknowledge other people's experiences may be different than my own.

It's got some good information for people new to corgul. You could run consume though on Corgul, yes only 10% of it's damage is physical but if you are running a pet with low physical resists that can be consumed and it will still get the benefits of the health regen. More health regen, less healing needed.
Your LS group reminds me of how the alliance has run it in the past.

Our experience with Corgul is vastly different than yours, but you probably know that. If people are looking for greater efficiency, a lot of info is in my above post. We run Corgul a couple times a week. My 100 hp pet decided she was going to be big and bad and tank Corgul tonight. She didnt die, so she showed me. o.0

The 2 mages may have done some damage! The beginning took forever. At least 40 min for the whole thing. Seemed to be extra pirates also. Left at 8:15 back on land a little after 9. We have had Dreadhorns take that long when someone decides to go help put the keys on and they die over and over.

I recommend lowering his resistance with something. The posts at the top tell you different methods to do that.

I wonder how others are going to react to this when it is on TC.
