pentagram tile trick + modified Ashyn counters

Been working on my lg tower deco and decided to see if I could make Ashyn's counters work in a standard house design. Below the counters are storage cubes, the lowered anvil turned out kind of neat as well.

I also tried the trick of lowering a regular pentagram piece onto a colored pentagram (worked great) and thought the "rug" that I built turned out well. I still have some minor detailing to do (eg, items for the top of the storage by the stairs), but thought I'd share how it turned out. Thanks to Tia & Shamus for the plants, a couple heritage tokens and furniture placement tips!

Been a few years since ive deco'd something, so constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated : )

Fantastic use of the chopped add ons, Wilde1! For those with classic houses, the more examples of these types of things, the better. :)

Redid my shop yesterday, I like the counter look and all my storage is now under it, where before I have four chest stacked at the west wall and two more at the east wall. Hell of a time working around those two vendors, one belongs to another account and its a pain to remove and redo them sometimes so I left them both.

It's been snagged :D

That looks really good! Makes me want to redo my smithy room in my keep!
Me too, patty! Between this and the carpentry stuff we've been seeing lately, my crafters area is getting a major overhaul soon!

So.... in order to make that counter top, do I follow Ashyn's directions, but substitute the custom walls for containers or is there something different I need to do?

thats how to do it. i made a section of counter per Ashyn, then set the container on top of it, secured it, and lowered it to the floor (it will pop under the section of countertop)

It wasnt my idea, theres a thread a few pages back that shows how to make colored tile sections using regular pentagrams and only one pentagram in the color you want (which you get back at the end!) not sure Im going to reference the thread correctly, but here goes:

I have one more question. The "ends" of the counters are hidden by the walls. Do the edges of the tables and containers line up? I only ask because I am planning on trying this, but in a bigger space and in a single line, where the ends will not be hidden. I want to know if I have to get creative in hiding the ends.

FYI- I tried doing this with hardwood tables instead of stone. It didn't look too good. I didn't take screenshots of it, but trust me. How exactly did you fit the forge in? I tried adding it and it looked funny.

You have to chop the forge too, similar to how you do the tables =)

I really do like how the rug turned out =)

I did that. I had to use 4 gazas, but when I chopped it, it seemed to look funny. I think I tried to leave an end instead of cutting it off. I will try it again when I get stone tables.

I dont know if chopped ends of a countertop would line up. I didn't bother chopping those 2 end pieces off their tables because they wouldn't show anyway. I did chop the ends off the forge, leaving the two middle sections. I think the forge pieces are raised one step to get them to line up with the countertop.

You should see this house in person. Pictures don't do it justice! This guy makes me want to drop one of my 18x18's for a "static" design!

This is an amazing use of deco :) I love it!

It's deco like this that tempts me to get rid of my 18x18... but I know I'd be wishing for new wall colors in a month if I went back to a tower. :p
