paying bounty on the bamboo stools

ok so i know there are a lot of people out here who are pretty tired of the lack of information regarding the "short stool" bamboo stools and how supposedly there spawning and only a handfull of people (if that) know there spawn location so here is what i propose.

as of today i am posting a 10 million gold bounty to the first person who posts here in the uo hall the actual spawn point of the stool. once posted this information must be verified by at least 3 people should this pan out i will personnaly deliver the bounty to what ever shard you wish (not mugen or siege).

i also call out to all those who wish to join in on this bounty to join with me, the more we offer the faster we will get this nonsence done with. should the bounty grow large enough i will contact one of the moderators of stratics to see if they would assist in collecting and delivering the reward to the person who sucessfully provides us the correct information.

screen shots are preferred. vague information is not accepted.

the one we are talking about is the one that people are selling for upwards of 25 million gold, it looks like the short bamboo stool. supposedly its obtainable on at least one shard but no one is having luck finding it except the few people who are asking outragous prices for them.

If they can sell one for 25 million, why would they take 10 million from you -- and lose their source of supply in the process?

I have a pretty good idea (not positive) where they spawn but it would take alot more than 10 million.

thats why im asking for others to help take up the cause.. im sure there are others out there who would donate a few gold for the cause...if 5 more poeple donate say 5 mil a pop all of a sudden the bounty is 35 mil...and im not targeting the guys who are hoarding them, im targeting the guy who may have seen it or has a idea where it might be and takes the time to see if there right. the more people who search for it the higher chance we will find out.

also zodia if you have a idea then go find out, you can either sell them for the 25 mil a pop yourself or do the right thing and let everyone know and collect your 10 mil free and clear. if i wanted this just for myself id ask for the information pmed to me but i want this public for all to see. the only thing i gain is the knowlege that others have a chance to obtain it.

You have better luck searching for it youreself. Those who collect the bamboo are 2 class of people. Treasure hunters which are in it for the fortune and Rare hunters who are in it for the ollection. Tresure hunters will not give up a source of income to have to compete with everyone else trying to get one for any amount of gold and Rare hunters will weant to keep it rare and not have it turn into the next broken chair.
Either way not gonna happen. nly one type of person would give out the info and it's not for gold.

1. does not exsist and they are just some how pre bugged stools form the cloak of humility quest...or somehow peeps are changing the stool here/duping the stool.

2. the item is long gone due to one person cleaning out the lot each day or each week..

120m actually, and I thought I was buying a "bamboo stool" as was advertised by the seller, not the common quest bug "short stool" item that I was already familiar with. I xferred to get this item and didn't demand we trade it back when I realized what I'd gotten, cause it was my fault for not mousing over it in the trade window. Dude took forever too, I mean he had to empty his bags into his bank to take my gold and I was really in a huge hurry to go make dinner so I was focused on him moving his booty, not me making sure that everything was kosher.

I was also pretty relaxed about it too since it was a big time trader so I figured they'd know what they were doing. I was super pissed afterwards too, they thought I would pay 120m for a bugged quest item like someone who didn't know anything. And I did!

But anyways, I *do* like the idea of there being mysteries in UO, and nothing to do with my personal experience. It is an all too common and familiar story that us players get really excited over something when we don't know how to get it or where it comes from, and as soon as it becomes accessible to us we lose all interest. Something goes from being fascinating to blah. I *like* that there are things out there I won't ever be able to get or have, it keeps up my interest in the game.

now if they were old quest items like the dread spider silk and the wash basin, the blue bottle ect.. why would they had not been fixed like all the others? if you have any of the old quest tiems none of them can be moved now, if you release one it stays in your pack forever and will not allow itself to be replace. the short stool in this case can still be moved around, also the devs stated that this item was spawning but would not mention where for the sake of hidden suprises. and im not against suprises im against people making billions off of poor saps that dont know any better. if someone finds something like this then good for them, but when they hoard it for themselves and offer no opportunity for others the same experience its wrong.

I agree, that is one of the qualities that makes UO boring. The fact that everything has a select spot to spawn. There rarely is any randomness to this game other than events. If only they wouldn't feed up to the whiners.

Well, allowing them to be craftable may solve some of the problem, however the mystery would still be there wouldn't it????

In my opinion, I do love the good challenge of server up daily rares. Nothing is more apt to start my "ultima" morning better than grabbing that sought after goodie. I do think it is assinine when the greed takes over and the same person day after day after day grabs and makes billions of gold off the item. To me, there is no glory in being a "daily rare hog".
I have my share of rares. I spent many years gaining that illusive item or items that my heart desired. Then, I moved on. Nothing wrong in allowing someone else the satisfaction of being the "early bird" and grabbing that wormy morning daily. I find it is almost as exciting as getting it for myself. I do think it is pathetic when something that is fun and exciting gets turned into a one man show for immense profit.

My challenge would be to the ones that know let a few more have the chance to log in and get. See if when you have some competition you can still grab it everyday. That is where the true challenge is. ANYONE can log in alone and get. No glory in that. The thrill is in getting when ten maybe more are trying for it.

I can't seem to find the post by Draconi that states the item is a server up spawn. If you find it great - please link me to the page.

There is a belief out there that this item is or was being obtained through a bug of a quest item which is currently obtainable and allowed you to move it, trade it and lock it down. This is the "mystery" I am trying to figure out. If it is a bug then it should not be kept quiet.

Laine i have come to the conclusion the stool IS NOT SPAWNING ON ANY SHARD....indeed the early days of the humilty quest the items collected where keepable/tradeable....it was only after a week or so the devs made all the collectable quest items no trade/no drop/quest items....Hence i belive someone is actually DUPING THE STOOL form one of the early useable humility quest stool and this action MUST BE STOPPED

I have a thief logged out in the room where the tarrot cards, the Ruined painting and the reverse backpack spawn. I just came back from a 2 year break to see what is new. and when I logged into my thief toon I saw a bamboo stool.
I stole it, the tarrot cards and the back pack.

I don't know if it spawns anyplace else but I now have one. I thought maybe they added new rares to the doom dungeon.

If its a true mystery, yes, leave it until all shards find it. But it wouldn't take much effort for a dev/gm to actually investigate whether the spawn is working on ALL shards or not,and whether someone is in fact "hoarding" their own private spawn. It's only a mystery if you're searching for an item that exists "somewhere".If you're looking for an item that "might" be somewhere, it's Folly.

There was a bamboo stool that did not have the artifact rarity tag on it that spawns somewhere that so far only a very select few know of. The one in Doom was added just recently in response to this.

i really, really, wish i had the kinda gold that would let me transfer shards just for a deco item. and if you're not even upset, wow, think how much more gold you must have in your bank.
