I am trying to place decorative boxes under my table in my alchemy/inscription room, as you have in the Port of Umbra, but the legs of the table keep showing! How do I get rid of them?

Patty probably chopped the legs off tables, and raised them prior to placing the boxes below. It is a use of a bug that the devs have winked at, long used by psychotic UO decorators (not that we have any of those around). There is a detailed tutorial on the Homes & Castles forum - you can modify the technique to many applications.

You can do some amazing things with the chopped add on, and goza stacking technique.

Thank you! Very interesting tutorial...

Now my biggest concern is having to lock down chopped items before customizing... and locking them takes storage space too yes?

I wil probably just do something else... grrr!

Faint hearts never won fair deco!

While this type of deco can be extremely lockdown intensive, it doesn't have to be. I tend to take the minimalist approach and strike a balance between keeping tons of lockdowns free for packrat purposes, and using some for pretty deco. You can make a very nice design using 50 lockdowns total. I think I decoe'd an entire house for someone using fewer than 150, and most of that was double stacked plants.

Skylark, thank you for stepping in during my absence. Stalker, I did exactly what skylark described- I chopped the legs off of the tables, using only the middle pieces. It takes alot of stone, but I think the final design is worth it.

Yes, you do have to lock them down before going into custom mode (I made the mistake of forgetting to lock down ONE piece and *PooF*. I had to redo that section. If you need any further help just give a shout and someone will help!
