Hello to all of my friends on Siege Perilous.
Wow, how many of these have a read.. and thought to myself, never will I be the writer of such a message. Yet, hear I am .. and doing so with a smile.
The Siege Perilous Museum (SPM) project has been a meaningful and important passion of mine since the beginnings of our Shard. Not only an effort to preserve our shards history and bring it to life in the museum, but in turn connect our community through a thread that binds us all ... the good, the evil, the orderly and chaotic, the old and the new. When i started down the path to build SPM I had no idea how much support I would get for such a project ... the community rallied around it and together through donation, trade and creative / collaborative efforts the SPM holds and absolutely enormous holding of our shards history ... a history well beyond just "rares and event items" but tokens from all walks of life on Siege. Player written volumes (the orcish entries are a must read), historic guild stones, legacy crafting's by the players who help shape our shard ... to truly unique and epic items that to this day only a handful of people have seen or know exist.
So much history, so much pixel candy hehe
... a collection that the shard should truly be able to enjoy. The building of such a museum is no small task. As you know, I have been at this for years ... but with family, and other life priorities taking my time, a task that I have confirmed I will not be able to complete. And with the weight of the shards history on my shoulders ... knowing it could vanish if I was unable to attend, the time has come for me to pass the Torch onto a new custodian.
I would like to ask the community of Siege Perilous, to join me in extending a very warm welcome to Malloc, our shards new protector and curator of our shards history, and new owner of the Siege Perilous Museum!
Malloc has been a supporter of the SPM project for as long as I can remember. He is also responsible for selflessly and blindly extending himself without question to save the museum from collapse just a short time ago. In getting to know Malloc, his heart and continued passion for Siege will be an asset in continuing the mission of the museum and help bring it to life for the Shard.
I'm certain he now feels the full weight, and burden of the task ... the sheer volume of history at first glance.. well second, third and forth is absolutely over whelming. Managing the collection is such large task that the thought of building upon it and displaying it is daunting. With this, I would like to ask that your extend your support ... help be his eyes as you were all my eyes for so many years. If you acquire something, anything you feel is connected with our history or is rare or unique in nature that it deserves to be shared with all in the Museum, please reach out to Malloc and offer your support. I'm certain he can be just as creative as I was in finding ways for such partnerships to be mutually beneficial.
So with that my friends, my chapter on siege closes ... Ooo, ok that sentence was a bit sad/throat jerking to write.
heh ...
I would like to thank everyone I have ever met on Siege in helping to create a truly wonderful, and incredibly memorable experience that I will never forget.
Happiness and health to all,
Famine
