so what do you feel is up with it? I saw cyber is closing due to lack of business for his efforts. I dont see as many things being sold- or sold at the prices they used to be sold at.
Opinions? Is this because there are fewer people here? More goods for less people? The cursed arties? Lack of interest? The holidays?

Mostly the holidays, I'm hoping.

There's always a steady out-flux of people on this shard, and when prominent people like Shakaja and Cybernickel leave, there's always a series of "woe-the-end-is-nigh" comments. So far, these comments have always been wrong.

I still enjoy the game and my friends in it, and so I'll continue to play.

However, if you are feeling depressed, can I have yer stuff?

Running vendor shops is hard work. I think individual shops have closed for various reasons, from not feeling appreciated to other life interests becoming more focus to being dissatisfied with the game itself. The things that have effected the guild/alliance situation has also effected the player economy. We have to depend more on our guilds for supplies and the forums for buying and selling individual items.

On the upside, anyone interested in opening a shop at this time, even for simple things like arrows, regs and cloth, would probably do some good business.

there is no market to even worry about.....it so up and down, its not even worth bothering running vendors anymore......

not many folks realize how much time it takes to stock a vendor, but they are the first ones crying here that the prices are to high....

too many jackasses who wait for the opertunity to undercut you the second you find something that does make a gold piece.

bags of sending should still be active here, resource scripting is nearly impossible unattended here (no recall/sacred journey) no resources=nothing for you to buy

seems silly to me to go spend an hour to get 1k leather.....haul it home...craft your armor and sell it for 2k a suit..........2 hours to earn possibly 50k profit for 2 hours spent making the items...gee in 20 hours ill make a mil pfffft.

its easier to join a big guild and do 1 spawn a day......make a mil a day or more on average

You are right about your leather armor analysis. I'm unwilling to spend so many hours farming barbed leather to sell the suits so cheaply. It's simply not worth my time with the BOS changes. At the rate they were selling, I'd now have to farm up 1k leather per day to keep stocked, and currently it takes me an hour or two for each 1k of leather, and at much higher risk of being pk'd than before.

So I got out of the leather armor business for the moment.

Perhaps in a few months, all the other leather armor vendors will exhaust their stock of barbed and discover the same thing. Then I'll be able to put up another armor vendor selling things for what they really cost.

I used to carefully stock my vendors every day. Now it seems like they can go for a week and not run out.

There seems to be a shortage of stores. Some that used to be like cybers old umbra store have been changed to private homes. I sure can't blame folks when we have people on this shard that use tricks to get into the private area of a store. With my vesper store I had to rearange furnature to block this kind of break in.

With the Siege high vendor costs one has to be in a high traffic area to pay for the vendors so we don't get the small shops skattered around the land.

So as you guys have said.....as stores run out, prices will go up.....Lets all try something different, a crafters guild, control the market and work together...each has his own shop, but the same prices.......

Fewer players = fewer needs to fill to craft up as well.

But aside from that they tossed in all this BS random this random that to supposidly curb the cheating scripters. So now if a player wants x amt. of shadow tables and chairs made and x amt of bloodwood rarewood chests, we get to go hunt up the stuff random bs bs and get overdosed plain wood and plain rocks or die to a blackrock ele trying to even find 6-12 shadow granite rocks to make ONE table etc.

Plain wood on many a vendor SITS cuz every one has an o'd of plain wood. *same for plain ingots every one has an overdose of em* Fletchers need the higher woods to make the better bows, IF they find that wood. Carps oft just wanted the higher woods to make things in all colors for customers *course once any addon is axed redeeded it now becomes blessed* no one looses a loom any more either and how many of those does anyone even need or want in their house.

Hides ..they changed the bos, so large guilds that used to go hunt dragons to all gather the barbed together, get to bos 10 stinkin stones of barbed at a time..........hrmm

ie they made the entire game and crafting in it a pain in the arse worsening with each wonder bandage fix to stop in theory *scripters* whom are still out there scripting and the non scripting non cheating crafters say to hell with this bs and stop making stuff to sell toss in less demand or less players less population here or oft being told *you are just a crafter* like ya some low life 4th class citizen also doesn't help either IE lack of appreciation for the mess of bs changes we have to put up with to ..serve them or their needs .....doesn't help much either. They complain if the vendors are empty..while we may be trying to spend hours to get them that bloodwood or valorite table or whatever or sitting in npc farmer shops waiting on the dorky npc to sell us more than 20 eggs at a time upping the egg total to meet the demand for smoke bombs...........and then we get told we havent made enough after spending long time at egg farmers to get eggs even to 120 eggs a farmer gating to ALL of em in our rune book to get 500 to make to be gone in.......2 hrs of game time bought out on siege/ ditto for enchanted apples ie have to que for the bottles to stock up cuz the enchanted apples eat bottles and ginseng too.

It all ends up easier just to make em for just your own guildmates in the guild supply houses and leave it at that no profit(or to privately make things for a few customers that pay ya for your work) so...ya end up then less tired with less running all over to buy or farm up stuff that to serve the many that the dev. team ........totally fubared up with their *random bs bs* or blackrock eles killin ya endlessly to mine up 6 blue stones to make one table IF ya ever even find valorite rock any more..and if ya lower your mining to below gm to avoid the blackrock...ya also dont get no granite if not gm miner etc.

I had vendors in 3 siege locations took em all down......EA needs to FIX this game more leave out of frustration pvp needs fixing, factions needs fixing, crafting needs fixing or to quote the EA UO ceo ...they admit they turn the game from FUN to work boring folks to death..or frustrating em to no end. Then to not be appreciated for trying to help here to meet some needs, ya just get told oh you are *just a crafter*..........like you or your opinons or your work is irrelavant here does not help either so more and more just hang it up and shops close down weekly and monthly til hardly any are left open. Kinda sad but that is the way it goes.

This taken from Wikipedia regarding EA :

One critique compared EA to companies like Ubisoft and concluded that EA's innovation in new and old IPs, "Crawls along at a snail's pace."[29], while even the company's own CEO, John Riccitiello, acknowledged the lack of innovation seen in the industry generally, saying, "We're boring people to death and making games that are harder and harder to play. For the most part, the industry has been rinse-and-repeat. There's been lots of product that looked like last year's product, that looked a lot like the year before."[30].

ie...........cures for *scripting* would also be bandage fixes that basically mess up *crafting* for the honest non scripting customers..bos one dragon nets more than the bos will even take in Barbed hides per pile of dead dragon...bos for ages just to get the hides to a guild or to the shop to craft up a tunic which takes 12 hides alone...yet the bos will only transport 10 stones now... to fill a vendor of 12 tunics or 144 hides................. 10 stones per one send of bos ... do the math !
pain in the arse !

Yeah I still stock the leather, but I only refill once a week if that. I go collect leather till I have like 1k, or I get pked. Then thats the week's supply.

I upped my prices, so I make more per 1k than selling the leather straight up for like 60per, and it seems to sell fairly well at that price (3600 a set, 600 a piece) which I think if fair considering the situation.

Then again I dont run vendors for the money, I just like to provide a service.

It's funny you mention economy, cause imo, it is the main reason why we can't keep new plyers here, vs the reason most of you think (ROT). new players simply have a hard time competing because of the high price of decent items. I think the shard is in desperate need of a major gold sink. There is just way too many insanely rich people on siege for any new player to try and compete here. Which in the end, is the reason for their departure.

Aye. Nothing to spend money on here except uber weapons.

The BOS changes help on the supply side, but I'd like to see the ability to buy heritage tokens for gold from an NPC at ~250k apiece as a gold sink.

Not a bad idea. It would be a shame if future players didn't have good access to that stuff.

there are guilds enough to fill anyones desire- yet not a CRAFTERS" guild!!! Uvtha and Petra have both commented on this. When oh when are you crafters gonna realize- you can be a power on siege. You can make fortunes. Someone step up to the plate and create one.
Then, some one create another, and make capitalism.
I, personally, believe that this would be good for siege.

this is a side of events that most players might not see or hear. Thank you very much for your post.
With all of that understood, higher prices are not so misunderstood.
Thank you for your crafting efforts, and I appreciate them. I am also willing to pay for them, according to your efforts.

tx so very much.

This is EXACTLY the input, differing opinion, and true insight I was looking for.

Any one else agree or disagree?

Well, I simply don't have the time, energy, or desire to be a guildmaster again after all these years, but anyone who wants to have a vendor at my place is more than welcome.

Aye same here. Besides any guild forming of any type really needs someone to host up a websight for the guild, with their own forums, and guild chat alliance chat probably UO map and some possibly even set up vent or team speak. I myself don't use VENT or that stuff would just bog me down *on dial up* so I don't fool with em.

Aside from that, while a grand idea many crafters here are in guilds, which probably most would not wish to exit from. . ie friends or loyalties that we already do have, to form a brand new guild would mean exiting guilds we are already in. . and etc. That would be hard for some to do. *toss in guild loyalties* and or oppositions ever changing alliances etc. that may inhibit the many crafters from getting along if the talk went to *board pvp* siege drama queens ie the pvpers we know per crafters and their endless silly in game in boards fights then even the crafters be pickin sides and it could blow the entire guild of crafters sky high and wide apart maybe. Dunno *just guessing* hehe.

Or ya get some maybe say we won't sell too..(insert name or guild of the week here to boycott sellin stuff too) while many others would be saying ...everyone is a potential prospective customer, treat em all equal and all right.. and bam more arguements.

duno...just can not see it working I guess, for a mega Siege crafters only guild to succeed here...shard changed too much and too few left here playing siege with definate roles they all played once just is not here any longer like it once was..even a few yrs ago.

Yeah as it is now, I don't think a new crafting guild could be set up unless some big guild breaks down.

I did have a lot of grand ideas for a merchants guild that would have all been pretty sweet if it worked out. But they would take too much effort, and would require too much moderation and I cant make web sites.

erm, actually, I have no desire to be in a crafter's guild, I'm too independent. I'm happy as I am, bumbling along, stocking my vendors and occasionally doing a special order or two if I feel it's something I can handle.

I did briefly toy with the idea of making my own guild, but I'd have been the only one in it. Mostly because this Snaga was having difficulty keeping up with which guild her boss was in
.

Making a fortune isn't on my agenda, my aim is to supply the needs of other players to the best of my ability, 'no empty bags' being a motto I try very hard to live up to.

like stated earlier, its not worth it anymore since it takes so much effort compared to the payout that its just ********... thus most people have crafters in their own guilds, and just live off their old leather storage and make armor for their respective guilds.
