I'm pretty sure there is no current plan to smash UO shards together. But you never know.

There will be discussions here about house hiding tamer ganks at least 3 days after the world is swallowed by a black hole.

Kind regards

The Sun does not have enough mass or energy to create a blackhole via
gravitational collapse...CERN will use much, much less energy and mass.

well most ppl dont think of what a black hole is. if you were floating a foot above our planet you have x amount of gravity pulling on you. if the whole earth collapsed into black hole you would still have the same x amount of gravity pulling on you.

hence even if a few atoms made a black hole then the gravity they exert on surronding matter would still be the same. you would not have a maddening spiraling in of matter into it.

Why do engineers always have such stupid hardhats. Why cant they wear a reasonable looking hard hat.

But if I threw a black hole at your face, it would swallow up your face, and then your chest, and then your toes, and then it would fall down to the center of the earth, getting more and more mass, until it reached the center and.... hung there.

Then we'd have to fill in the hole it left.

I don't want to fill in the hole. And we just threw it at your face, so you're in no condition to be filling in holes.

I guess we could build a tiny bridge over the hole. And young lovers could throw in coins while making a wish. Which would just add the coin's mass to that of the black hole. I think it's also a felony to deface money with black holes. So they might get a fine.

We could also dump toxic waste down the hole. Some would soak into the sides as it fell and get into our ground water, but the majority would fall all the way down to the black hole.

....I don't want to get back to work. You can't make me.

They have to for everyone's protection. If even a molecule of anti-geekmatter came in contact with their heads, the resulting geekmatter-anti-geekmatter explosion would be more serious than firing up a silly massive particle accelerator.

And people say I talk geek when I'm talking about computer forensics?

You people take the quantum cake...

I am by no means an astrophysicist, but how would a black hole form if it didn't have a significant amount of gravity in the first place? Isn't the only way to form one (conceivably, since this is all theoretical) to have a ginormous amount of mass crunched into a tiny space, creating something to massive not even light can escape its gravitation (and hence the term "black" hole)??

these things happening in our upper apmosphere all the time with much greater power then what CERN does, but

what they are possibly doing splitting particles and atoms that might combine together without the eletron orbit.
say its like our solar system with the planets as eletrons. they strip away all that and combine several sun's together in a tight format. this is called a mini black hole or micro black hole. a dense inner structure without the outter objects to define its size. hence its size is the inner sun's not out where pluto was.

theroretically these should only last for a micro second and be gone.
worrys are that they wont.

Now, if the electron exclusion principle was negated...then you fall through
the floor, ground, rock under neath your feet. Also, bio-chemistry would stop!
Yup, you just stop being alive.

I believe the CERN ppl are looking for the Higg's particle...but, I still think
they not find it... then they have to pull those hard hats off and scratch their
heads.
