OT Rosetta Stone. Has anyone used this?

I heard all of the Rosetta Stone programs are actually very useful as well as helpful! Good Luck!!

Rosetta stone is very helpful. I got to the point where I could understand what was being said, and understand what I read. I didn't do as well with speaking, however. I think that's just a personal problem though.

Anyway, I think it's a good program. I wish I was dedicated enough to stick with it. That's the real key!

Over half of my kitchen staff speaks Spanish and very little English. I will have plenty of opportunities to practice.

I downloaded a hacked version with all the language packs. I started on the Latin Spanish a while back, but haven't touched it in a week.

I like it, just don't see to have time between sleep, food, and UO.

Shame on you! I did the first couple of lessons... I think repetition and staying the course will be key. It is kinda fun. If I get bilingual there will be a serious raise...

Not to mention knowing what people are saying about you at Walmart, Target, Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy's, etc....

Rosetta is what the military uses for their linguistic classes, once the people pass the computer version they are paired with a fluent speaker for their next phase.

Without using a translator, just using old memory from my school days:

Я = me / iam
не = not
могу = that word i dont know
говорить = speak / speaking
по-испански = spanish
очень = very
хорошо = good

"Nyet ! "
Course ya may need the cryllic to type it properly though.

'No' in Russian

Had a penpal from Kiev for several yrs. tho. once, till he tried to turn me into a comrade.

'NO' seemed the best first appropo word for me to learn, to say, in Russian or any other language one may need to learn the word, NO ! !

Although I did learn how to do/deco tons of artistic Ukranian Easter Eggs, quite beautifully from him.

As for Spanish I learned just enough Spanish to get me into trouble in Spain in 1970....they thought I was almost *fluent* in Spanish so the folks in Spain started babbling to me really really fast.....then, all I could then do was mumble like a dork, 'no habla' ! lol
